MediaTek has unveiled a new SOC the Helio P25 in the Helio P Series. The key highlight about the MediaTek Helio P25 SOC is it’s using 16nm process and has built in dedicated image processor that supports up to 13MP color plus 13MP Mono (dual camera).

The Helio P25 is a 16nm FinFET SOC similar to the Helio P20. When compared the P20 is 64 bit octa core clocked at 2.3GHz whereas the P25 will be 64 bit octa core clocked at 2.5GHz. P20 supported max 24MP camera where as P25 will support 13MP + 13MP dual camera or 24MP single camera.

MediaTek Helio P25 supports real time shallow DoF bokeh effect and Videos in HDR mode with full preview. The GPU used is Mali T880 MP2 @ 900 MHz. This chipset supports 1080p display and can shoot 4K videos.

  1. it now supports DDR 4 RAM…which will be great for gamers. this is a great chipset for gaming.

  2. great to see mediatek moving to 16 nm fabrication…we can expect much better battery life with reduced heating in gaming. Dual camera support is now becoming a new trend and duel cam support at chipset level in P25 is great sign of cameras getting better and better every year in mid range smartphones.
