LG has announced a unique smartphone packed inside a transparent body that sails on Firefox OS. The handset is packed with good hardware, it is a mid range phone with a price tag of JPY 50K (Rs. 26K).
The LG Fx0 is designed by Tokujin Yoshioka, the phone looks unique, it’s transparent and you can actually see the components inside. The Fx0 sports a 4.7 inch screen with probably 1280 x 720 pixels resolution (not confirmed).
It is powered by qualcomm snapdragon 400 quad core MSM8926 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. Firefox OS 2.0 runs out of the box with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There is micro SD support of up to 64GB. There are dual cameras – an 8MP on the rear with flash and 2.1MP on the front.
Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth. This transparent smartphone is 10.5mm thick, weighs about 150 grams and gets power from a 2370 mAh battery. The LG Fx0 has been launched in Japan for approx Rs. 26,000 – will be available within few days.
No word about the Fx0 launch in India. As of now there are low cost Firefox powered handset available in India, but I don’t think they are that popular.
