The HP 15-P073TX is a powerful notebook made for gaming users. It houses the Intel Core i7 processor and is running Windows 8.1 64 Bit version out of the box with 8GB RAM and 1TB of hard drive space.

HP Notebook Box pack
Inside the box you will find the HP notebook, 2620 mAh 4 cell battery, power cord, 65 watt AC adapter, after sales details (Telephone number) and setup instructions. I also got a free Laptop backpack.

Design
The HP 15-P073TV Notebook is big in size but pretty slim and weight is about 2.5 Kg. It is silver color metallic with lined textures on the lid. Look wise the notebook is attractive and when you open it up you will not miss your desktop. The Notebook has got a curvy touch with no sharp edges.

On the right side there is power / HDD indicator, 3.5mm audio jack, USB 2.0 port and 8X SuperMulti DVD RW Drive with Dual Layer Support. On the left side there is a charging point with LED indicator, RJ45 port, vents, 2 x USB 3.0 port, HDMI port and 3 in 1 card reader.

There is a soft material surround the screen area and the island-style keyboard / touch pad area is with nice texture finishing. There is plenty of space around the keyboard. This HP notebook comes with dual stereo speakers using beats audio technology. A VGA camera is placed on the front lid with dual microphones.

HP 15-P073TX Notebook review

Display
I found the display a bit disappointing. Colour reproduction is good but viewing angles are not that good. The (Non-Touch) Screen is 15.6 inches HD Brightview LED back-lit (Wide screen) supporting 1366 x 768 pixels resolution.

Performance
This Notebook is powerful, I was using a netbook before and desperately wanted a powerful notebook as good as my desktop, in fact the HP 15-P073TX notebook that I got is much more powerful than my desktop.

It is using the 2GHz Intel Core i7 (4th Generation processor) with 4MB Cache. Clock speed is 2GHz but it can be turbo boosted up to 3.1GHz. Add to it there is built in Nvidia GeForce GT840M graphics processor with 2GB DDR3 Graphics memory.

HP 15-P073TX Notebook beats audio

This notebook is loaded with 64 bit Windows 8.1. There is 8GB (4GB+4GB slots) onboard DDR3 RAM. RAM is upgradable up to 12GB. As far as the storage is concerned there is 1TB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM).

NovaBench Benchmark score = 678.
GeekBench 3 (32 Bit test) = Single core (2553), Multi core (5059).

Overall performance is excellent.

Battery
On a full charge you can expect about 3 to 4hours of heavy usage.

Verdict
For the price tag of approx Rs. 58,000 (you can get it for lower price, check the offers) it definitely is a very good buy.

It is always better to invest in the latest technology, that way you will be able to use it for a much longer time, the same will not look outdated. If you are planning to buy a laptop for business, gaming or general usage, the HP 15-P073TX Notebook will fit perfectly in your budget.

HP 15-P073TX Notebook is available on Flipkart for under Rs. 58,790.
