Gionee today announced the Gionee P1 and the Gionee L800 handsets. The P1 sports a 3.5 inch screen with dual cameras. The handset runs on the android OS and is powered by 1GHz processor.

The Gionee P1 houses an advanced processor clocked at 1GHz with 3.5 inch capacitive touchscreen and running on the android OS (Android 2.3 – Gingerbread). The screen resolution is 480×320 pixels. There will be two cameras a front VGA and a rear 2MP fixed focus. Though the press release image shows 1.3MP rear camera (check the image below).

The memory is 512MB with micro SD support of up to 32GB. This is a dual SIM handset with a battery of 1500 mAh capacity. The handset supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and micro USB. The press release does not mention if it supports 3G. If the hardware is MediaTek MT6515 (single core) then the 3G support will be missing, as the hardware supports only the 2G network.

The P1 will come for a price of Rs. 4,999 along with a screen guard and a free 4GB micro SD card. The freebies will be for a limited period only. The handset will be available in black colour.
