Gionee today launched another handset in the Marathon series, presenting the Gionee Marathon M5. The key highlight about this handset is that it is powered by MediaTek quad core processor and houses a built in 6020 mAh battery.

There are other features on the Gionee Marathon M5 that are also pretty impressive. To start with the 5.5 inch AMOLED screen with gorilla glass 3 protection and 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution. There is a good 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage space plus micro SD card support of up to 128GB. M5 is powered by MediaTek 64 bit MT6735 – 1.3GHz quad core processor coupled with Mali T-720 GPU.

Android 5.1 runs out of the box with Amigo 3.1 UI. There is a 13MP AF camera with LED flash on the back and a 5MP camera on the front. Rear camera can shoot full HD videos. Key features are 4G LTE (dual SIM also supports CDMA networks), 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth. The M5 interestingly also comes with IR blaster with Peel Smart Remote app that comes pre-installed.

And the final as well as the key part is the non-removable battery of 6020 mAh (Li-po) capacity (2 x 3010 mAh batteries) that should easily give over 4 days of backup with mixed usage. With this handset in your hand you may never need a power bank.
