Gionee today launched two new handsets in China. The Gionee Elife E8 and a new handset in the Gionee Marathon series, the Marathon M5. The key attraction on the Marathon M5 is the huge 6020 mAh battery. Handset is running Amigo 3.1 based on Android 5.1.

This handset is 8.5mm thick and makes use of 2 x 3010 batteries. The M5 does comes with dual charging technology for fast charging. There is 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage plus micro SD card support of up to 128GB. Screen is 5.5 inches it’ super AMOLED supporting 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

Gionee Marathon M5 is powered by MediaTek (MT6735) 1.3GHz quad core processor. Also included is a 13MP auto focus camera with LED flash packed on the rear and a 5MP camera on the front. Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.

M5 is priced at RMB 2299 that comes to approx Rs. 24K. It will be available in China from 25th June, no word about its launch and price in India.
