A smaller automatic watch or a larger calendar chronograph? The Fossil Signature CS-1 collection gives buyers that choice with Swiss movements, domed sapphire crystals and record-inspired dials. Announced India prices are ₹57,995 and ₹75,995. The important difference is what each watch does, and the two models take quite different approaches to everyday timekeeping.

Fossil Signature CS-1 price in India
Fossil has announced collection prices of ₹57,995 and ₹75,995 for India. The announcement does not identify which model or strap variant carries each price, so these figures should be read as collection-level pricing, not a confirmed price for either watch below.
The Indian announcement also does not specify a retail sale date or a list of participating stores. That leaves the local variant selection and exact model prices to be confirmed.
Two sizes, two different movements
| Model | Main specifications |
| Three-Hand Date Automatic | 38mm case; Swiss automatic movement; hours, minutes, seconds and date |
| Master Calendar Chronoquartz | 42mm case; Swiss quartz movement; day, date, month and chronograph |
| Shared design | Domed sapphire crystal, record-inspired dial texture and Triple Diamond Quality insignia |

38mm automatic: a simpler dial and a mechanical movement
The 38mm Three-Hand Date Automatic is the more straightforward option. Its dial focuses on the time and date, with fewer displays competing for attention. The smaller case is also worth considering if a large chronograph tends to dominate your wrist.

Fossil identifies the movement as the Swiss Sellita SW200-1. An automatic movement uses wrist motion to wind its mainspring, so the watch does not need a battery. That does not make a mechanical watch maintenance-free; servicing and occasional time correction remain part of ownership.
The international FSI1000 stainless-steel version has an exhibition caseback that reveals the movement and custom Signature rotor. Fossil lists a 41-hour power reserve for that reference. The reserve describes how long a fully wound watch can run without further winding, not a promise that it will run indefinitely when left in a drawer.

42mm Chronoquartz: calendar details and a stopwatch
The 42mm Master Calendar Chronoquartz suits someone who wants more information on the dial. Along with the time, the watch displays the day, date and month. Its chronograph provides a separate stopwatch function.
Fossil specifies a Swiss Ronda 5040.F quartz movement. Despite the mechanical-looking subdials and calendar layout, this is a battery-powered watch, not the automatic model. A more elaborate dial does not mean that both watches use the same type of movement.
On the international FSI2003 brown-leather reference, day and month windows sit alongside subdials, while a red-tipped central hand points to the date. These are analogue watch functions. The Signature CS-1 announcement does not describe phone notifications, calling or fitness tracking.
What CS-1 means and why the dial looks familiar
CS-1 stands for Case Study One. Fossil links the name to the American Case Study Houses programme and its approach to mid-century design. It is a collection name, not a movement code or a claim that the watch reproduces a particular building.
The record-inspired texture adds fine grooves to the dial. The shared Triple Diamond Quality insignia gives the two designs a family resemblance even though their layouts differ. Fossil describes Signature as its return to Swiss watchmaking, with the range sitting in its premium watch offering.
Sapphire crystal, straps and the details that matter
Both models use a domed sapphire crystal. That curved cover is part of the design as well as the materials story. Buyers should still treat the watch as a precision accessory; sapphire does not make the entire case, strap or movement immune to damage.
The international range includes leather straps and steel bracelets. Fossil lists self-adjustable links and a butterfly clasp on selected bracelet versions. Those details should not be assumed for every model, particularly a leather-strap reference.

Case size is only a starting point for fit. The 38mm and 42mm measurements are worth comparing, but strap shape, case thickness and how the watch sits on the wrist also affect comfort. The Indian announcement does not provide a full dimensional breakdown.
The Jaipur unveiling and India availability
The collection was unveiled at City Palace in Jaipur. Fossil also named Sawai Padmanabh Singh as its global ambassador for Signature, supported by a campaign filmed in the city. The partnership gives the launch its setting; the main buying choice remains automatic simplicity versus calendar and chronograph functions.

Other watches to compare
For a different direction within the brand, the Fossil Big Tic follows an analogue-digital approach. The Fossil Grogu Neutra watch set puts the emphasis on a character-themed collector design. Neither is the same proposition as the Swiss-made Signature range.
For other conventional watches, check out the Fossil Neutra FS5380 and Seiko 5 SNKP17K1 automatic. These are separate alternatives, not Signature CS-1 variants.
Which Signature CS-1 makes more sense?
The 38mm Automatic is the natural starting point for someone who wants a cleaner dial and enjoys a visible mechanical movement. The 42mm Chronoquartz makes more sense if a calendar display and stopwatch matter more than automatic winding.
Signature CS-1 is worth considering for its movement choice and design details. Buyers who primarily want connected features should look elsewhere. For anyone choosing between these two watches, confirmed Indian model prices and an in-person fit check will be more useful than the ambassador campaign alone.
