Design and features
Inside the box you will get the Digoo camera, user manual, 3M sticker and cable. Build quality and finishing is very good, glossy black color – this is Digoo DG-M1Q 960P camera is also available in silver color options.
The size is not that small, I was excepting it to be a lot smaller. This Digoo DG-M1Q 960P camera comes with built in WiFi IP support, wide angle lens, it can shoot 960p videos (max) and still camera not so great at 1.3MP resolution.
Even video recording is not that great but the main purpose of this camera is security and for that it is pretty good considering the price. There is micro USB port to power this camera – there is no built in battery. A micro SD card slot is also available, you will need to use a micro SD card (64 GB max) to save data on it.
The Digoo DG-M1Q 960P also comes with 10 Infrared LED lights that automatically lights up in dark environment.
You will need to download DigooEye app from Google play and follow the instructions as mentioned in user manual. Your smartphone should be connected to same primary WiFi that you are planning to use with this IP camera. You will need to assign name and password that you can use for viewing live feeds.
There are several options available, including motion / intruder detection, recording modes (manual, alarm and time based) – check video review for more details.
The camera does heat up slightly within few minutes but the temperature remains constant. To power up this Digoo DG-M1Q 960P camera you can use smartphone adapter or simply use a power bank (for portability).
The videos are recorded in AV format and you can view them from Digooeye app, there is option to convert part or all the video to other format that can be viewed on any video player.
By attaching a power bank you can even carry this camera and use it like a portable, body camera. However that is not what it was made for and the output is really not great, not worth it, but camera is good for security purpose.
WiFi is needed for first time installation but after that you can use the camera to record even without WiFi. If WiFi is available you can view live stream from anywhere in the world using your smartphone and the Digooeye app.
This Digoo DG-M1Q 960P camera works great in complete dark environment and up to a good distance of 10m.
Just insert the SD card and the camera will start recording, check video review on how you can do that.
A very good cost effective option to add security cover to a smaller area like a room or your small office. Use camera guard mode (motion detection), alerts etc and get notified when there is breach. This is not a good option if you want to use it like a camera.
Digoo DG-M1Q 960P IP security camera is available on Banggood.com for $17.99 (approx Rs.1,300).
