The slim phone race in 2026 has a new entrant, and this one is genuinely thin. The Camon Slim went official today, June 22, with a body that measures just 6.39mm at its thickest point. For context, that is thinner than most premium flagships, and Camon Slim manages it while still packing a large battery, a 144Hz display, and a Sony camera sensor that usually shows up in much pricier phones.
Five colour options are on offer at launch: New Mondrian, Prism Black, Jungle Green, Van Gogh Blue, and Burgundy Red. The Mondrian variant, in particular, leans into a bold geometric design language with blocks of colour on the back panel, a clear nod to the painter the name borrows from.
India pricing has not been announced yet. Going by recent slim-phone launches in the same bracket, expect Camon Slim to land somewhere in the upper mid-range segment once it reaches Indian shelves.

The 6.78 inch AMOLED panel runs at a 1.5K resolution and refreshes at 144Hz, which is a tier above what most phones in this price bracket offer. Tecno is pitching it as ultra-bright, and on paper, the panel specs support that claim. Gaming and scrolling should both feel noticeably smoother than the standard 120Hz panels that dominate this segment.
Camera: A Sony Sensor Doing The Heavy Lifting
The headline camera spec here is the 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 sensor on the rear, paired with a flicker sensor for better shots under artificial lighting, the kind you get under tube lights and LED bulbs common in Indian homes and offices. A 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
Tecno has historically used strong camera sensors as a way to stand out from the crowd in the mid-range segment, and putting a Sony LYTIA 600 into a phone this thin is a deliberate flex.
AI Mood Light and HiOS 16
The camera module doubles up as a notification light, what Tecno calls the AI Mood Light. It can show charging status, incoming calls, and custom light patterns through a set of LED dot indicators built into the camera bar.
Software runs on HiOS 16.2, and Tecno has bundled a handful of AI features alongside it, including AI Snap Poster, AI Pet Together, AI Healthy Eating, and AI Recording Note. How useful these turn out to be in daily use is something we will only know once we get the phone in for review.

The global launch is done, and an India rollout typically follows within a few weeks for Tecno’s Camon series. Pricing will decide where this phone actually sits, since the MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset places it firmly in the performance mid-range rather than the flagship tier, even though the display and camera specs punch above that.
