Soon after the Micromax Funbook buzz, another company Telmoco is coming up with an android 4.0 powered tablet called the Attitude Daksha that will be priced at Rs. 5,399 with competitive specifications which makes it the cheapest tablet available in India, so far.

Today Micromax Funbook is a hot selling tablet in India but they will soon find a competitor the Daksha tab which will soon hit the markets in May. This is a low cost, high performance tablet with a better battery life.

Attitude Daksha Features

Most of the specifications are similar to the Micromax Funbook. This tablet is powered by ARM Cortex A8 processor running at 1.2 GHz which can be clocked further to 1.5 GHz this coupled with a dedicated GPU at 400 MHz.

The Daksha comes with 512 MB RAM (DDR3) and comes loaded with android 4.0 (ICS) OS. The display screen is 7 inches with capacitive technology and multi-touch support (5 point). Other features are microSD slot, HDMI port, micro USB port (OTG  connector for USB dongle), 3.5 mm jack and power slot. There is a VGA front facing camera for video chats. I am not sure if the camera resolution is better or if there is another rear facing camera (stay tuned for updates).

The Daksha not only beats the Micromax in terms of price but also when it comes to battery performance. The Attitude Daksha comes with a 3800 mAh battery as compared with the Micromax Funbook that houses just 2800 mAh battery.

Telmoco claims that the tab can last for about 6 hours with Wi-Fi switched on, from a full battery charge. A battery life and a lower price tag may divert the consumers towards the Daksha tablets. So far the details look good on paper but let’s see how well the low cost tab perform in reality. I just hope the booking and delivery process are professionally managed.

So watch out for the Telmoco Daksha tablets coming soon in May. You can book the tablet online from telmoco.com from 15th May onwards. Pre-bookings have started and sadly its is the same using a simple online form. Once you submit you get the booking id. So far 58,000 plus users have submitted the form (You can know it from the Booking ID number). I am not sure how many submissions are genuine.
