  1. Is volte support is there & video call via contact or dialer?please it is so much important for gogi ji or someone else reply me back.please please

  2. Asus Zenfone 4 selfie (Dual Camera) or Gionee A1 Lite or Gionee A1 under 15,000 which is the best selfie camera phone. Have seen the shots of A1 lite they are awesome. Need only 2 things.. 1) Superb selfie camera 2) phone shouldn’t hang

  3. Zenfone 4 selfie entry level model launched with a price tag of 9,999 has been made with a lot of compromises to keep the pricing low and to keep Asus’ profit margin intact. It has a back panel made almost entirely out of plastic, has a 720p display which is appalling in this day and age & a ridiculous SD430 that is an entry level processor..I remember watching the live streaming of the launch & the presenter while talking about key features smartly hid the fact that it has a 720p Asus is clearly cutting corners in terms of phone built now so that they don’t have to cut their price margins significantly

    1. Snapdragon 430 is decent for a 10 k phone. And a HD panel is better for this chipset. With FHD screen, you get weird lags. Read the reviews of Nokia 6. With a HD screen it will perform smoothly. That’s why even Xiaomi went with a HD screen for Redmi 3s Prime. Of course, that had all the major sensors while this might not. As far as plastic backs are concerned, I much prefer plastic as it is much less slippery and there is no need to buy some ugly ill-fitting back cover for the phone which is a much worse fingerprint magnet.

  4. We can see Asus has increased it’s product prices after the success of zenfone 2 Laser , zenfone Max and few more devices.
SD 615 , 5,000mAh battery, Excellent camera with laser auto focus with gorilla glass protected screen was priced under Rs.10,000.
Now , the successor of SD615 with 3,000mAh battery with no laser autofocus is prices above 20,000.
Zenfone 3 series didn’t get much success due to their pricings.
I know some will say that Asus has quality. But sorry , Asus lags more than the similarly priced handsets or smartphones with same processor.
And believe me … wait for Xiaomi to increase their price for their brand value.
Xiaomi has no choice except launching phones with Snapdragon processors. They use mediatek processors in international market. But Xiaomi has to capture Indian market so they price Phones in India same as International markets.
Well , our Micromax is back in the game with Yureka Black , Infinity and just now , Yureka 2.

    1. Asus phones don’t lag or get heated(even with average chipsets) and the internal storage as well as the screens are higher quality. Their ROM is also more minimalistic and has actually useful features(holding down task tray button for screenshot is the best option I’ve seen on any ROM)

And only their launch prices are high. Within 3-4 months, you get attractive prices on most of their phones especially during a sale.

Finally laser focus was a wrong turning as it made the camera shift focus when you touched the software button to click the photo. Laser focus may be good for video but bad for photos which people mostly take with cameras.

      1. Laser Autofocus was the plus point bcoz it has eliminated de-focusing issue in low light situations, which is still there in phones priced above Rs.20,000.

        1. I used Zenfone Max for the last three quarters of 2016 and experienced first hand the problems with laser autofocus when shooting still images. You had to hold the camera very still to capture focused still images. Even the slight movement on tapping the phone to snap the photo would shift and blur the focus. That’s why they probably got rid of that.

I don’t mind having an action camera mode for videos on a smartphone though. As I see it, the only valid uses of smartphone cameras are
          1) Short-range photos of friends and family and selfies ideally in any lighting conditions shot from 1 foot to about 25 feet distance
          2) Capturing details in small font documents shot at close range(2-3 feet) using(when necessary) a higher contrast and software techniques for sharpening characters Some kind of intelligent integrated OCR technology should be tied to this including translation services, rendering the information into a text or .doc file etc, saving phone numbers in contacts or directly calling them etc
          3) Action camera mode for videos you shoot on the go. We should be able to capture fast-moving subjects at a high framerate easily. This is where fast autofocusing(as well as a quality microphone) come in handy.

As I see it, there should be different auto modes corresponding to these specific situations(in the case of videos, different auto modes for fast and slow action videos) People who are caught shooting pictures of skies and natural landscapes with smartphone cameras should be given one month’s imprisonment for stupidity as well as a fine equal to the price of the cheapest DSLR on the market. If smartphone cameras were designed with this narrow focus of what they are supposed to accomplish, they would be much better.

          1. Lol. Only first para is relevant to our discussion. Rest is me setting down my idea of the perfect design quotient for a smartphone camera(minus AR features)

    2. I have Zenfone 3, 3gb/32gb version and it doen’t hang or lag from last 5month.. And offcourse Asus has good quality better than Xiaomi. Ya agree there previous Zenfone series price was high but now they have decrease the price.. New Zenfone 4 series looks promising…

      1. I’ve used zenfone 2 laser and zenfone max too …. that’s why I specified them in my comment.
        I try a new phone every 2months.
Every comment i’ve posted on Gogi’s site include the phones that i’ve tested.
