Alcatel announced three new handsets at the CES (Consumer Electronic Show) all belonging to the ONE Touch family called, the ONE Touch Idol, ONE Touch Idol Ultra and ONE Touch Scribe HD. Of these three handsets, Idol and Idol Ultra are powered by dual core processor whereas the Scribe HD is powered by the latest quad core chipset from Mediatek.
The ONE Touch Idol Ultra and ONE Touch Idol sports a 4.7 inch screen whereas the ONE Touch Scribe HD comes with a 5 inch screen. Not much of the details were revealed but here is what we know.
One Touch Idol
This handset will be powered by dual core processor with a 4.7 inch IPS screen sailing on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean OS). The Idol is light weight at 110 grams. The handset comes with a front 2MP camera and a rear 8MP camera.
One Touch Idol Ultra
This one again comes powered by a dual core processor clocked at 1GHz with a 4.7 inch HD AMOLED display running Jelly Bean OS. As the name suggests it is ultra thin at 6.45mm, cool. The handset also comes with 8MP rear camera capable of capturing full HD videos.
One Touch Scribe HD
The Alcatel Scribe HD sports a 5 inch IPS touchscreen display with 1280×720 pixels resolution. It comes with 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage and 8MP camera with 720p recording capabilities. This handset will be powered by a 1.2GHz quad core processor (MediaTek MT6589). A 2500 mAh battery will power the handset and you can also buy an optional capacitive stylus.
The Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD is expected to be priced at around Rs. 20,000. Stay tuned for more.
I read review about micromax 110. So many problems are in handset like touchscreen, call drop, low voice. After sales service is very poor of micromax. IT is always better to buy branded mobile. Buying micromax is waste of money.
hey gogi what will be the price and when it is going to avalabel in india.
dear sir, after going through so many reviews regarding quadcore smartphone from china. I am smartphone crazy. I just want to know when huawei ascend mate will be available in India.

Hai, sir which is the best phone. The andi 4.5h or wammy sensational. Pls tell me and where I can got wammy mobile in Hyderabad. Pls tell me.
Price too high price around under 13,000 it’s best buy.
MT6589 entry is slow than expected, may take 2months to be India COZ there only 2or3 in china yet. So when they launch QUADCORE is not enough to attract us(coz we lost all the interest already), something extra like 6″ with 3D only get the minimum response from us. Believe it or not, zopo LIBERO is the example. But guys like me want that 3D at sizes like ZOPO MAX. I believe 6” phablet with 3D is the future people choice, remaining are just waste.
They may not come to India, that’s the problem, why world is not looking at India as a new destination for smartphone business. Google still can’t sell its Nexus line-up in India through Play store, how disgusting. I feel very bad when I surf net and see phones like these but they hardly come to India and if they come they would have announced their next mobiles in CES 2014. Micromax is still finding it difficult to produce Canvas 2 as to its demand. Nowhere I found it after searching in 2 tier city, mmx’s next flagship must have quad core processor, HD screen, at least 1gb of RAM.
Blame the govt squarely for that ! tougher and stringent import laws, a paint at the customs clearance, very high import duties + this tax + that tax and a logistics nightmare is what wards off such companies from this market .. why do you think Apple Inc doesn’t care about India as much as other south east Asian markets ? The very reasons !
Gogiji are these phones dual sim & will it be available in India?
Hey gogi,
I am a hardcore follower of your blog. Currently, I am using Zync Z1000 tablet. The 9.7″ with HD resolution is great. The only con is its size. Its a headache carrying it. Now, I wanna buy a phablet with atleast 720p resolution, good gaming and a descent camera. The only thing I wanna avoid are the on screen keys (just like your fav. canvas 2). I had a look on ZOPO ZP950, but to my disappointment, it had on screen keys.
So, could you please provide me with some info. on phablets? Preferably the ones without screen keys. Waiting for your suggestions.
Aakash there will be more pablets launching in 2013, so better wait.
For sure Gogi. Maybe I should wait until the mediatek quadcore is properly introduced into the Indian markets.
Alcatel is a good brand in mobile phones, but Most of the Alcatel smart phones are not available in India.
Hey gogi will the be available in India and will they compete with mmx and karbonn’s upcoming devices
Within a month or two, I think MMX will come with a more cheaper version.
Good to see the Quad Core Phone, but alcatel is not available everywhere in India, Reliance has re-branded their handset and selling at Reliance Digital Store, not attracting much response, lets wait for this TCL- Alcatel Mobiles to invade India, but before that we will be having lot of other options with 6589.
Alcatel do your home work well for the Launch in India.
Alcatel RIP, no one is going to buy a mediatek phone for 20,000. Dual core kraits will soon be avalaible for that price, which is far more powerful.
Here it is, will it be available in India, if yes , when?

Sir you don’t think scribe HD is very much overpriced on which date ces is going 2 be held.
CES trade show is going on now, the price are estimated, will have to wait and see. The product should be available within a month or two.
Alcatel One Touch Scribe HD
5′ screen with good resolution, 1GB RAM and Quad core are appealing…
price will come down (much below Rs. 15,000/-) with increasing competition…
MMX, Karbonn, Spice….
We are waiting for such good specification at competitive prices. where are you? where is (A 120/130 – CAN 3/4); A24+; A33+.
Nice one , MMX is very quiet for the last couple of months. May be they are waiting for some big bang release and produce enough number of devices for faster delivery. Even flipkart misses the delivery when it comes to MMX.
