Acer Iconia B comes powered by a dual core processor with a 7 inch screen, 512MB RAM and probably running on the Android Jelly Bean OS. The tablet is expected to be priced at under Rs. 8,000.

The Iconia B will hit the Indian markets in January 2013. The 512 MB RAM (needs confirmation) seems too low. The price is really good considering the well known brand ‘Acer’.  It’s a dual core tablet with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU.

If you compare the tab with other low cost dual core tablets that are now available in India, you will find that many of the other brands are providing Mali 400 GPU whereas the Acer Iconia B is with SGX 531 GPU, which is nowhere as compared with the Mali. The MTK8317 performance will be near about the same as the MTK6577.

I doubt if the Iconia B will be able to play 1080p movies. The dual core CPU is MediaTek 8317 clocked at 1.2GHz. The tab comes with 8GB internal storage, micro SD slot and 7 inch capacitive screen with 1024×600 pixels resolution. There is front VGA camera and other features like Wi-Fi, micro USB slot and 3.5mm jack.

The screen resolution is good, RAM is just 512MB and the 8317 dual core processor with PowerVR GPU may not be that powerful but considering the price and the brand it is a good buy for brand conscious users.
