The Philips i966 Aurora was launched in China for CNY 3699. This is a high end smartphone that comes with a quad core processor running KitKat over a Quad HD screen. The Aurora also comes with a finger print scanner placed on the rear side.
The i966 is powered by 2.5GHz qualcomm snapdragon MSM8974AC quad core 801 processor with 4G LTE support. The Aurora also comes with a Quad HD 5.5 inch 2K screen i.e. 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. The screen is with corning gorilla glass 3 protection.
This is a single SIM handset with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. It runs Yun OS 3.0 based on Android 4.4. The rear camera is pretty impressive (specs wise), it is with 20.7MP resolution with Sony Exmor RS BSI sensor. Rear camera is with flash support. The front camera is equally good with an 8MP resolution.
Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth. The 3000 mAh battery that the handset houses comes with quick charge 2.0 technology – it provides 75% faster charging.
