When OnePlus says the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is “Designed for your flow,” they clearly mean the kind of flow where you glide effortlessly through life preferably on a 12.1-inch display with 2.8K resolution and enough battery to outlive your weekend plans. And since the tablet officially launches on 17 December, we decided to dive into an early unboxing of the unit we received.

Before we begin: Yes, our review unit is Wi-Fi only, and no, we didn’t get a Stylo in the box.
Yet the tablet proudly supports the Stylo just not for free, apparently. Marketing dreams versus reviewer reality.

Now let’s unbox this pastel-themed productivity promise.

Unboxing Experience – A Minimalist Ritual for Modern Tech Lovers

Opening the OnePlus Pad Go 2 box feels like entering a calm meditation zone. Clean, quiet, and aesthetically so peaceful that for a moment you forget your credit card bill is due.

Inside the box we found:

  • OnePlus Pad Go 2 (Wi-Fi model)
  • 33W SUPERVOOC charger + cable
  • Paperwork you will never read
  • A distinct lack of Stylo (we checked twice)

OnePlus is consistent with packaging that feels premium without screaming for attention. It’s modern, minimal, and makes you believe you’re about to become a far more organized person than you actually are.

Design & Colours – Shadow Black, Lavender Drift, and the Pursuit of Aesthetic Perfection

The Pad Go 2 comes in two colours:

  • Shadow Black – the only variant that offers 5G support
  • Lavender Drift – a soft, dreamy shade designed to bring instant influencer energy into your workspace

Our unit arrived in Lavender Drift, radiating calm vibes and trying very hard to convince us we have our lives together. The aluminum body feels premium, the rounded frame is comfortable, and the single camera keeps things refreshingly simple. No fake lenses pretending to be telephoto thank you, OnePlus.

Display – The 12.1-Inch 2.8K Experience No One Asked for but Everyone Loves

Let’s talk about the real centerpiece: A massive 12.1-inch / 30.73 cm display with 2.8K resolution, delivering 284 PPI of sharpness so crisp you might start reading e-books just to admire the text.

But OnePlus didn’t stop there.

This beauty features:

  • 900 nits HBM peak brightness → usable outdoors unless you live in the sun
  • 98% DCI-P3 colour coverage → vibrant enough to make even boring spreadsheets feel dramatic
  • Dolby Vision support → because your binge-watching deserves cinema-level bragging rights
  • TÜV Rheinland Smart Care 4.0 certification → your eyes will thank you later
  • 88.5% screen-to-body ratio → all screen, minimal bezel, maximum ego boost

Whether you’re drawing, watching content, or pretending to work during meetings, the display is truly the highlight of this device.

Open Canvas Software – Productivity Theatre, Now in Tablet Form

The Pad Go 2 runs OnePlus’s Open Canvas software, and even without a Stylo in hand, the experience feels fluid and intuitive.

You can:

  • Split apps across the screen
  • Resize windows
  • Drag, drop, and multitask like a digital wizard

It’s designed for creators, students, professionals, and people who like arranging apps aesthetically while avoiding real tasks.

And yes only default home screen allowed, nothing Greenland-specific shown. We’re behaving.

5G (Only on Shadow Black) – Because Speed Deserves Colour Coding

Here’s the fun part:

  • Shadow Black variant → 5G support
  • Lavender Drift variant → Wi-Fi only

Our unit is Wi-Fi only, perfect for people who like staying near routers or enjoy stable home networks. But if you need on-the-go productivity, the Shadow Black model finally brings 5G to the Pad Go series for the first time.

It’s rare to see connectivity determined by colour, but OnePlus believes in making technology stylishly confusing.

Performance – Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra (4nm)

Fueling this tablet is the impressively efficient MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra built on a 4nm process. It’s designed for:

  • Smooth multitasking
  • Efficient battery use
  • Balanced thermal performance

And since performance reviews are prohibited, let’s just say: “It exists. And it’s doing its job quietly.”

Battery – The 10,050mAh Powerhouse That Probably Has More Stamina Than You

The Pad Go 2 packs:

  • 10,050mAh battery
  • 33W SUPERVOOC charging

And OnePlus claims:

  • Up to 15 hours of video playback
  • Up to 53 hours of music playback
  • Up to 60 days of standby time

In other words, if this tablet ever dies on you, it’s definitely your fault.

Oh, and there’s wired reverse charging, so you can rescue your dying phone and feel like a hero.

Stylo Support – Yes, It Works… No, You Didn’t Get One

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 supports the OnePlus Stylo, enabling writing, sketching, note-taking and digital artistry.

However, as our unboxing reminded us:
Support ≠ Included.

If you want the full creative experience, you’ll need to buy the Stylo separately or use your finger and pretend it’s intentional minimalist art.

First-Impression Verdict – A Tablet Built for Flow, Aesthetics, and Occasional Productivity

The OnePlus Pad Go 2 brings together:

  • A stunning 12.1-inch 2.8K display
  • Long-lasting battery
  • A premium design
  • Stylus support
  • A smooth multitasking platform
  • 5G (on the Shadow Black model only)

Even our Wi-Fi variant with no Stylo made a strong first impression. It feels premium, performs reliably, and looks expensive enough to improve your self-esteem.

This tablet won’t solve your life problems but it will make them look beautifully organized on a 2.8K screen.
