A four year old smartphone company from London just posted 105 percent growth in a market dominated by giants that have been building phones for decades. That is not a rounding error or a one quarter fluke. According to Counterpoint Research’s Q2 2026 India Smartphone Shipment Tracker, Nothing has been named India’s fastest growing smartphone brand, and this is the ninth time in the last ten quarters the company has topped that list.
For a brand that entered India only in 2022, that kind of consistency is rare. Most challenger brands get one big quarter and then fade. Nothing has managed nine.
What the Counterpoint Report Actually Measures
Counterpoint Research is a market intelligence firm that tracks smartphone shipments across regions every quarter. The number that matters here is year-on-year growth (YoY), a comparison between shipments in April to June 2026 against the same three month window in 2025. A YoY figure strips out seasonal noise like festival sales or exam season slowdowns, so a 105 percent YoY number means Nothing shipped roughly double the phones it did a year earlier, not just more than the previous quarter.

This is a shipment tracker, which counts units sent from the company to retailers and distributors rather than units bought by end customers. It is the standard way analysts measure brand momentum before retail sales data catches up.
Why Nothing Is Outpacing the Rest of the Market
Two things drove this quarter’s number, and they are quite different from each other.
The first is straightforward product demand. The Phone (4a) series, which includes the standard Phone (4a) and the higher specced Phone (4a) Pro, has become Nothing’s best selling lineup in India. Both phones carry the brand’s transparent design language and Glyph lighting system at prices well below the company’s flagship Phone (3), which makes them an easier sell to buyers who like the look but do not want to spend flagship money.
The second driver has nothing to do with hardware. Nothing became the title sponsor of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the 2026 Indian Premier League season, after serving as associate sponsor the year before. Both seasons ended in an RCB championship, and that visibility during India’s biggest annual sporting event appears to have translated directly into brand recall and, eventually, sales.
Phone (4b) Is Where the Momentum Is Heading Next
While the Phone (4a) series built the base, the newer Phone (4b) is where the brand’s current energy sits. Launched as the first device in an entirely new B Series, positioned one tier below the A Series, Phone (4b) is designed to be the cheapest entry point into the full Nothing experience, complete with Nothing OS, AI features and the signature Glyph Bar.
The market responded fast. Phone (4b) became the highest selling smartphone in the ₹30,000 and above segment on Flipkart on its very first day of sale. A limited edition Phone (4b) RCB Edition, created to mark the team’s back to back title wins, sold out in under two hours after fans lined up outside Nothing’s Bengaluru store for a single day, in person drop.
That kind of queue for a phone company that did not exist five years ago says something about how far the brand has come in India specifically.

What About the Phone (4b)?
Here is where buyers need to pay attention. Phone (4b) is a Flipkart exclusive in India. Nothing has not listed it on any other major online marketplace, so there is currently no direct retail link for it outside Flipkart and Nothing’s own offline retail partners like Croma, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales. If you are hoping to pick one up online, Flipkart is the only option right now.
The Bigger Picture
Nine fastest growing quarters out of ten is not something that happens by accident. Nothing has built a repeatable playbook in India: launch a distinctive looking phone at a price point just below where buyers expect to pay, back it with visible marketing during a moment the whole country is watching, and let word of mouth do the rest. The Phone (4a) series proved the formula works at scale, and the Phone (4b) launch suggests the company has no plans to slow down.
Whether that 105 percent growth rate holds through the next few quarters will depend on how well Phone (4b) sustains demand once the launch buzz fades, and whether Nothing can keep finding new price points to occupy before rivals catch up.
