The iOcean X7 youth edition comes powered by MediaTek quad core processor with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The handset sports a 5 inch screen with FHD resolution. It is priced at Rs. 11,500 along with Rs. 500 as shipping charges.

I had done a review of the Wammy Passion Z a few days back, and in fact the Passion Z is a re-branded X7. Everything is the same expect for minor changes. The iOcean X7 is priced cheaper that the Wammy Passion Z, though it is good news for the consumers unfortunately it is the AndroidGuruz who will be selling and providing after sales support for the same (those who have booked handsets from AndroidGuruz or those waiting for the UMI X2 will understand).

Inside the box
You will find the X7, screen guard, user manual (in Chinese), power adapter (you might want to buy a Multi Socket Power Adapter), data cable and 2000 mAh battery. There is no earphone included. Along with the review unit I also got the orange color back protective case that looks good and gives a completely different look. I am not sure if the back case is provided free of cost.

Looks, memory, storage and OS
X7 youth edition with its premium look will definitely turn heads. The handset is 8.9 mm thick and weigh is about  130 grams. It is comfortable to hold even with a big 5 inch screen (3.2mm ultra narrow design). The OGS screen is with a protective layer (dragon trail glass), it is scratch resistant. There are few gaps that are easily visible on the rear where the battery cover clips with the handset. It is not much of an issue and I think on a black color handset it will hardly be visible.

The 5 inch screen is with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. Viewing angle is very good and touch is smooth and responsive.

Of the 1GB RAM, 389MB is available and of the 4GB storage 1.48GB is assigned for apps of which 1.05GB is available and another 1.29GB as internal storage. You can install apps on external storage.

The iOcean X7 runs on the Android 4.2.1 OS.

Camera and Entertainment
The 12MP camera quality is good. The camera can record full HD videos at 30fps. You can check the sample images and videos at the end of the article. I tried playing full HD using MX player and it worked smoothly without any lags.

Gaming
I tried the Nova 3, that got installed on the external storage. The game play was smooth. You can check the same in the review video.

Others
3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi worked without any issues. Sound is loud and clear. I tried connecting pen drive with OTG and it did not work (OTG is not supported).

2000 mAh Battery
The battery performance is good I got a full one day backup on a full charge with minimal to moderate usage.

iOcean X7 review and conclusion
The dual SIM handset has got a very good premium look with good built quality. The Wammy passion z that is currently being sold is a re-branded X7. And now the iOcean X7 itself is available in the Indian market for approx Rs. 12,000 cheaper than what Passion Z is selling for.

Having said that the X7 will be sold by AndroidGuruz in India and many of you are already aware of the company reputation. It is a good handset, but the sales and after service is still a question mark, a big question mark. So be aware before ordering. You should be able to buy the handset from AndroidGuruz site, unfortunately it is not yet listed.
