Infinix today launched the Note 5 Stylus and the unique thing about this handset is that it comes with a X-Pen that looks and performs similar to the S-Pen as seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note series. The Infinix Note 5 Stylus price in India is Rs. 15,999.

Infinix Note 5 Stylus is using a metal body, built and finishing is pretty good, especially the Red color looks great. The X-Pen houses inside the body just like as seen on Samsung Galaxy Note 9 handset. In fact the X-Pen looks a lot similar, comes with a fine tip and button.

With X-Pen you can Create Note, Write Memo, View Files, Smart Screenshot & for Doodling, Painting, Calculator, also supports Handwriting Recognition (will get that soon via OTA update). When you remove the pen you get the X-Pen related menu.

When screen is off and you remove the pen you can quickly note down content on screen and save it, just like as seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note smartphones.

Fast Charge: 20 seconds of Xpen charge gives 90 mins output. Pressure Sensitivity: 4096 sense of pressure, so the lines are finer and more detailed and overall experience of the pen is close to real handwriting experience.

Infinix Note 5 Stylus review

Inside the hood the Infinix Note 5 Stylus houses the MediaTek P23 octa core processor, there is 4GB RAM, 64GB ROM, comes with hybrid slot supports dual VoLTE, and is running Android Oreo out of the box (supports Google Lens and Google Assistant). This is Android One Smartphone.

The screen is 5.9 inches with FHD+ resolution, it is a full view display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 2.5D curved glass and there is no notch. Other features are Dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio. There is LED notification too.

Coming to the camera on the rear there is 16MP AI camera, supports AI Portrait and on the front there is 16MP camera. Camera quality is above average, edge detection in portrait mode is not that great but can be fixed / improved via software updates.

Night shots are okay when using auto or HDR mode, but if you use manual mode then the output is pretty impressive.

I played PUBG game, game was playable but not really that smooth. Antutu score I got was 85064. Handset does not heatup much.

Battery

There is 4000 mAh battery and inside the box you get 18W fast charger too. It took me 1 hour 20 minutes or so for a full charge and on a full charge you can get up to one and a half to two days of battery life.

  1. I am using infinix note 4 for more than a year. Hardware is good but they don’t give proper updates. So am still stuck on nougat. Whatever updates they give are to much buggy. Also they have removed some of the earlier good features like super battery, in the name of patent issues.
I think some the x-pen features will be removed slowly in the name of patent issues, when they give updates. Because it is Android one there may be some relief, the updates may be better because it is from Google. But overall infinix is very bad in giving updates, they spoil the user experience with every update, they have morons sitting in their software labs and giving your more and more buggy updates!. It was would be ok to buy this mobile if there is some good ROM development community for the model like XDA developers.

  2. Until launch, looks, etc etc., everything is fine. here comes the worst part from this brand is their softwares inbuilt apps are fully loaded with bugs and inbuilt popup adds, no proper upgrades, no security patch.. Initially u feel very happy with their handsets, later time by time ull regret for the mistake u have done. Go look into their so called shitty XCLUB app, ppl are crying with all of their handsets poor performance and no proper support banging infinix like anything. .The worst part in that XCLUB app is there are some ppl like moderators etc etc., they are all unprofessional ppl dont know any technical things and act as if they are Infinix owners.. Dont get fooled with the looks.. Always on the paper performance matters not looks…

  3. i hv been using infinix zero 5 ( red ) for around 10 months… great handset.. with huge battery,

  4. Hi Bro.
S-Pen, sorry X-Pen 😉 looks impressive. But with big bezels! naaaaa..!!
They should have given at least notch/due drop display with a good processor!
In other countries, i think they are giving earphones along with this mobile which is missing in this package!! Not sure how this is gonna sell in India!!!
I will surely buy one, if they release the next version with a notch/water drop display, good cameras along with an SD710/at-least SD660 processor priced around ₹19000

    1. Forgot separate MicroSD card slot is a must now a days for many(Irrespective if whether they use it or not :), like me)
