With the launch of the new Xiaomi Mi TV 4A, Xiaomi also teased about a new smartphone that they will launch on 14th March 2018. This most likely will be budget friendly Redmi 5 powered by Snapdragon 450 processor.
If it indeed is the Redmi 5 that Xiaomi will launch on 14th March then most likely it will also be a soft launch (online launch). Redmi 5 is SD 450 octa core powered, comes packed with 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB – RAM / ROM options.
It will run MIUI 9 out of the box. As for the screen it is with 18:9 aspect ratio, 5.7 inches with 2.5D curved glass and with HD+ resolution i.e. 1440 x 720 pixels. On the rear there is a 12MP AF camera with f/2.2 aperture and on the front there is a 5MP camera with front LED flash.
Redmi 5 will supports 4G with VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It will come packed with 3300 mAh battery. We will know on the 14th if this is the handset that will be launched, also as far as the price is concerned it could be under Rs. 7K.
