Dyson is best known for its vacuum cleaners, hair dryers and air purifiers. Now the company is bringing its technology into something most people use every morning a toothbrush. The Dyson CameraJet is an advanced electric toothbrush with a built-in camera, AI technology and a water jet system. It was launched globally on September 1, 2026.

Dyson says it spent around six years developing the CameraJet from scratch.

The toothbrush is designed to detect small gaps between your teeth while you are brushing. When it finds a gap, it can automatically send a small jet of liquid into that area to help clean places that normal brushing may miss.

What Is Gap Optical Targeting

One of the main technologies inside the CameraJet is called Gap Optical Targeting.

A 100,000-pixel macro camera is built into the brush head. It captures up to 28 images every second while you brush your teeth.

An onboard AI model analyses these images and looks for narrow spaces between the teeth. According to Dyson, the AI system has been trained using more than 470,000 images.

When a gap is detected, a stroboscopic light helps illuminate the area. A diaphragm pump then sends a small conical jet of liquid directly into the gap.

The system can deliver up to 0.15ml of liquid per burst.

Dyson says the complete process, from detecting the gap to firing the water jet, takes around 100 milliseconds. This means brushing and water flossing can happen together instead of being two separate steps.

Dyson CameraJet Toothbrush Price and Availability

The Dyson CameraJet toothbrush price is $499 in the US and £419.99 in the UK. Based on current exchange rates, this is roughly around ₹47,000 to ₹48,000.

The toothbrush is available for pre-order in two colour options — Ceramic Ultra Blue and Ceramic Pink. Shipping is expected to begin from September 8.

Dyson has not announced the official CameraJet price in India or a confirmed India launch date yet.

Dyson India’s website currently allows users to register for product availability updates.

The company has launched some of its previous products in India after their international release, so the CameraJet could also arrive in the country later.

How the Brushing and Flossing Actually Work

Even without the camera and water jet, the CameraJet works as a premium sonic electric toothbrush.

Its motor uses variable sonic oscillation and moves the bristles around 245 times every second.

Dyson says this helps keep the bristles moving properly even when brushing difficult areas of the mouth.

The toothbrush uses a contoured dual-bristle brush head designed to clean around the gumline and remove surface stains from the teeth.

The water flossing system uses an anti-gravity tank connected to a diaphragm pump. The tank is designed to reduce air pockets so that the water jet remains consistent even when the toothbrush is held at different angles.

This could be useful when cleaning back teeth, which can be difficult to reach with normal floss.

The brush heads also come with RFID chips that track their usage. The system can notify you when it is time to replace the brush head.

There are three main cleaning modes.

Brush and Auto-jet uses brushing and the water jet together. You can also select brush-only or jet-only mode if you want to use the functions separately.

There are also Gentle, Variable and Deep clean intensity settings, allowing users to choose the brushing strength they prefer.

MyDyson App and Live Camera Feed

One of the most interesting features of the CameraJet is its connection with the MyDyson app.

Using 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, the app can show a live camera feed from inside your mouth while you brush.

There is also an intraoral inspection mode that allows you to take a closer look at individual teeth.

The app creates brushing coverage maps that can show areas you may have missed. It can also monitor brushing pressure and keep a record of your brushing habits over time.

So, instead of simply guessing whether you properly cleaned difficult areas such as the back molars, you can actually check the brushing coverage inside the app.

How It Compares With Other Premium Toothbrushes

At $499, the CameraJet is much more expensive than most premium electric toothbrushes currently available in India.

Here is how it compares with two popular premium options.

The biggest difference is that neither of these toothbrushes combines a camera and water flosser inside the toothbrush itself.

The main question is whether these extra features are worth paying several times more for the CameraJet.

Someone who already uses a good electric toothbrush along with a separate water flosser can get many of the same basic cleaning benefits at a much lower cost.

What the CameraJet adds is its AI-based gap detection, automatic water jet and live camera view.

Battery, Build and Everyday Use

Dyson claims the CameraJet can provide up to 14 complete cleans on one charge.

The supplied refill dock can refill the water tank in around three seconds, making it easier than manually filling the toothbrush under a tap every time.

The CameraJet is also fully waterproof and can safely be used in the shower.

A travel case is included in the box, making it easier to carry the toothbrush while travelling.

However, detailed long-term testing will be needed to see how well its camera, AI targeting and water jet system perform during everyday use.
