Ather Energy has launched its most important scooter yet. The Ather Konarc is designed to bring electric scooters to more Indian buyers. It comes with a 200 km range option, a 10-year battery warranty, and a starting price below ₹1 lakh.

The scooter was unveiled at the fourth edition of Ather Community Day 2026 in Bengaluru. The Konarc is the first scooter built on Ather’s new EL platform.
Ather says it has used what it learned from years of making the 450 series and Rizta to create a scooter that is more affordable and practical for everyday riders.

Ather Konarc Price in India
The Ather Konarc price starts at an affordable level and goes up depending on the battery and range. Here is what Ather has confirmed so far, with prices applicable ex-showroom Bengaluru.

The S 125 km and S 161 km variants will reach customers first. Bookings and deliveries will begin in mid-September, starting with select variants and states. Ather will then expand availability across the country.
Six Variants Across Two Product Lines
The Konarc lineup is divided into the S and Z series, with six configurations in total.
The S series will have four range options: 100 km, 125 km, 161 km, and 200 km on the IDC cycle. IDC stands for Indian Driving Cycle, which is the standard test used to certify range figures for electric vehicles in India.
The Z series will sit above the S series and will have two variants with 125 km and 161 km range. These models will also offer more premium features.
Colour options include Quartz White, Lumen Copper, Celestial Gold, and Majestic Grey across the range. Steel Blue and Claret Red will be available only on the higher-end Z variants.
What Makes the Konarc Different
Ather has designed the Konarc with Indian roads and everyday riding conditions in mind instead of only focusing on numbers. Here are some of the important features.
Wheels and chassis: The Konarc gets a 14-inch front alloy wheel and a 12-inch rear alloy wheel. It has a 1,352 mm wheelbase, which is among the longest in its segment. The long-travel suspension at both ends is designed to handle potholes and rough roads better.
This is also Ather’s first scooter to use metal body panels at the rear, along with a steel unibody chassis for better strength.
Transmission: Instead of using a regular belt or chain system, the Konarc uses a sequential gear-drive transmission. It is designed to offer smoother and almost silent power delivery while also reducing mechanical wear over time.
Comfort: The scooter gets a comfortable seat and padded grab rail. Buyers can also add the optional LoungeBack accessory, which is an adjustable backrest with lumbar support for better comfort for both the rider and pillion.
AeBS, MagicKey, AutoPop and AirWalk Explained
The Konarc introduces several new technologies aimed at making everyday riding easier. Here is a simple explanation of what each feature does.
AeBS (Advanced Electronic Braking System) is a software-based braking system developed by Ather. Unlike regular brakes that use a fixed front-to-rear braking balance, AeBS can adjust this balance depending on the road conditions.
It uses the scooter’s existing sensors and motor controller, so no extra hardware is needed.
The system also uses regenerative braking to help reduce stopping distances and lower the chances of wheel lock-up.
MagicKey is Ather’s new keyless system. Its SmartWake feature allows riders to unlock the scooter without taking the key out of their pocket. The scooter can also lock itself automatically when the rider walks away.
The key fob also has a ping function that can help locate the scooter from up to 30 metres away.
AutoPop can automatically open the under-seat storage when the rider approaches the scooter with the MagicKey. This can be useful when your hands are full.
AirWalk detects when you are manually pushing or pulling the scooter. It then provides a small amount of motor assistance in the same direction. This can make it easier to move the scooter around in tight parking spaces.
Charging and Battery: What You Need to Know
Every Konarc comes with a built-in 450W onboard charger and charging cable. This means you do not need to carry a separate charging brick.
For faster charging, buyers can add an offboard 450W charger. It works together with the onboard charger through Ather’s Combined Charging system to provide a total output of 900W.
Ather says this setup can reduce home charging time by around half.
For the battery, Konarc uses Ather’s fifth-generation Bedrock battery pack. It is covered by a new 10-year or 1,00,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
Ather also guarantees at least 70 percent battery state of health at the end of the warranty period.
The warranty covers defects and failures, including the time when the scooter is not being used. Ather says sales of this extended battery warranty will begin soon.
Servicing has also been made easier. The service interval has been increased to 10,000 km, which means most riders may need to service the scooter about once a year. Ather has also reduced the number of checks during each service and made wear-and-tear parts easier to access.
Ather Konarc Launch Date and Availability
The Ather Konarc was officially launched on 29th August 2026 at Ather Community Day in Bengaluru.
Bookings will open in mid-September, with the S 125 km and S 161 km variants reaching customers first in select cities and states.
Ather plans to expand availability across India in phases. Buyers in other cities may have to wait a little longer for the scooter to become available.
Tarun Mehta, Co-Founder and CEO of Ather Energy, said the scooter was designed for buyers who are still unsure about switching to an electric scooter.
He highlighted the metal body panels, 200 km range, once-a-year service interval, and faster home charging as some of the key areas Ather focused on.
According to him, the company worked on these areas without reducing the premium experience that Ather is known for.
