Asus S1 is a portable LED projector that comes packed with 6000 mAh battery and apart from using this devices as a projector it can also be used like a power bank. The Asus S1 LED projector supports HDMI and MHL.

Design, features and specifications

The Asus S1 LED projector is light weight, pretty small and easy to carry. It’s a small box with metallic finishing and buttons on the top with LED notification. There are vents on either sides to reduce the heat buildup. On one side you will find the power on/off button, DC in, USB port (output 5V/1A), HDMI/MHL port and audio jack. Just below these ports there is speaker vent (built in speaker).

The buttons on the top can be used to setup the devices (contrast, brightness, volume etc.). Build quality and finishing looks premium, it’s eye catchy and hard to believe this projector can easily fit in your bag.

You can use this to project contents or use the Asus S1 Projector like a power back. There is no need to switch on the projector when you just want to charge your smartphone, just plug in the micro USB cable into the USB port on the projector and the other end into the device you want to charge.

Performance

You can project content from your mobile using MHL cable or you can project content from Desktop / Laptop / other devices with HDMI support using HDMI cable.

The output looks good, it’s a project with 1000:1 contrast ratio, very good option for presentations and for entertainment. The built in speaker sound is decently loud.

On a full charge you can use the projector continuously for up to 3 hours.  The 22Wh 6000 mAh rechargeable battery can charge a smartphone with 2000 mAh battery for up to 2 times. It takes 4 to 5 hours to charge the projector battery.

Verdict

Overall it is a very good option for business users on the move; they can easily carry this portable projector and leave a lasting impression with their presentation.  S1 Projector does come for a price but then projectors aren’t that cheap.
