Spice Mi-495 Stellar Virtuoso is now listed on Saholic for just Rs, 10,499. In my previous article on Mi-495 I had mentioned the price could be around 11K to 12K however it’s close to the 10K range.
If the Mi-495 is priced at 10,499 then the first thing to look for is the RAM and as mentioned on the Saholic site it is 512MB. We were expecting a price of around 11 to 12K with 1GB RAM, however with 512MB it’s not a bad deal.
The handset weighs 150 grams with a 9.4 mm thickness. The TFT display screen is 4.5 inches with 960×640 pixels resolution. The handset is powered by a dual core processor. The handset competes with the Micromax A110 and also with iBall Andi 4.5h that comes with 1GB RAM, this one with 512MB for a much lesser price.
Recently we have seen many manufacturers coming out with dual core versions, an indication that quad cores are in the pipe line. But there is still a good price difference between 1GB RAM handsets and 512MB RAM. Spice Mi-495 has got a premium look, let’s see how it performs.

- Android 4.0 ICS.
- 4.5 inch TFT LCD touchscreen with 960×540 pixels resolution (244.77 ppi).
- 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage of which 1GB for apps and 1.55 as internal storage. Micro SD card slot that can house 32GB cards.
- 3G (HSDPA), 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB, 3.5mm jack and GPS with A-GPS.
- 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1.3MP front camera. Video recording supported not sure yet if it can record in 720p resolution.
- 1700 mAh battery.

Its amazing…. touch & screen resolution is great…..
even better than xperia go & samsung s duos with less price.
one can say its 1700Mah battery should be 2000 Mah but in comparison of most branded phone its still higher then many other models.
Look is great (i don’t want 5″ bulk Phablet)
In My view its best deal with 10,300 rs. + free cover.

Could you tell me your experience about Spice Android phone regarding the network quality? Because while using first product of Micromax A100 I have faced some issues regarding network connectivity. For e.g on dual sim functionality one sim wasn’t getting the networks. I have found the same issue with my friend’s mobile too.
Though, before using the spice dual sim I want some details about it. So please tell me your experiences..

I want to ask a basic question about the touch screen buttons of the android phone. For e.g some phones have capacitive touch button on the bottom of the phone (like Karbonn and Micromax A110) and other have these button on screen (Micromax A100 and latest Spice Mi-495).
So what are the benefits/drawbacks of on-screen and off-screen buttons.?

Not much difference, “on screen” buttons will use dedicated space so you get a little less of the screen area.
Is there any issues when we use power, volume keys and home (off-scree) buttons for rooting the device? OR no need use these on-screen buttons while rooting the device.

Our local guys tarketing mnc in shape. Micromax a110- s3, this phone more or less look like iphone series without front side physical button.

I can not show any Indian manufactures{ Spice Micromax Karbonn Beyond } handsets with 1 GB Ram except IBALL ANDI 4.5H well known company makes computers spare parts and com. screen and you aspect quad core handsets from them they are making fools and why I am going to buy this handset if i am spending 1000 rs. More I CAN PURCHASE I BALL ANDY FOR JUST 12500 ÖN FLIPKART SO FLOP PRODUCT.
What about the 1 GB ram ? we are moving too slow, atleast dual core with 1gb ram and super amoled screen required.
Indian brands forget that ram is necessary to multitask smoothly whats the point in lunching 512 mb ram phone I wonder if they launch quad core phones with 512 ram?

I purchased spice mi 355 just coz of ics update promise .and now company just forgot us. It feels reallly bad, I am never gonna buy spice again ,really poor management.
The only difference between KARBONN A21 & this one is that A21 is with 5MP camera. Still I think Stellar has got a premium look as compared to A21. Both are closely priced but perhaps Spice is too late in introducing this one.
Also, 9.4mm thin is also attractive perhaps the thinnest at this price range.
What will be the processor Gogi? I think it will be MTK.
Deepak, it could be MTK or Qualcomm never know as Spice usually prefers qualcomm.
