Redmi 5 launched in India price starts from Rs. 7,999

Xiaomi today launched the Redmi 5 in India. This is upgraded version of Redmi 4. It comes with 18:9 aspect ratio screen and will be available in 4 exciting colors. There are 3 variants 2GB/16GB for Rs. 7,999, 3GB/32GB for Rs. 8,999 and 4GB/64GB for Rs. 10,999.

The Redmi 5 will be available from 20th March from Amazon.in, Mi.com website and Mi Home stores across India. This handset comes with hybrid dual SIM slots and running MIUI 9 out of the box based on Android 7.1.2.

Redmi 5 features a 5.7 inch 2.5D curved screen with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution. Inside the hood it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa core processor with Adreno 506 (14nm tech). The RAM / ROM combination have already mentioned (2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB, 4GB/64GB).

Coming to the camera on the rear there is a 12MP AF camera with f/2.2 aperture and with LED flash support. On the front there is 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash support.  Also included – IR blaster and Finger Print sensor on the back.

Handset weight is 157 grams and is 7.7mm thick. Other features are 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2 and  Wi-Fi. A 3300 mAh battery powers this handset.
