Google Motorola Nexus 6 with Quad HD display launched starting from $649

Google, Motorola on Wednesday announced their next flagship model the Nexus 6. Google will provide the software support whereas Motorola will be taking care of the manufacturing and hardware support.

The Nexus 6 can be pre-booked by end of October in the US and shipping could probably start from November or early December. On the hardware front the Nexus 6 is Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 powered clocked at 2.7GHz with Adreno 420 GPU, it’s quad core playing around with the latest OS the Android 5.0 Lollipop over a 5.9 inch AMOLED screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD) resolution. The display is also protected with corning gorilla glass 3.

There is 3GB RAM and optional 32GB and 64GB options. This smartphone comes loaded with dual cameras – a 2MP front facing and 13MP rear facing. 2160p videos can be recorded using the rear camera. Handset weight is 184 grams and it is not that slim it is about 10.1mm thick.

Key features are 4G, 3G, 2G, GPS with GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, wireless charging and NFC. The built in battery is Li-po with a capacity of 3220 mAh. As per the company it gives talk-time of up to a day.

Google Motorola Nexus 6 will be available soon in the US for $649 (32GB) and $699 (64GB) versions – without contract. No word about its availability and price in India.
