ASUS Transformer Book Duet TD300 laptop tablet convertible announced

ASUS has announced what they call the first quad mode and dual boot laptop / tablet convertible. Users will be able to use the device as a laptop as well as a tablet, they can also switch between Android or Windows operating modes.

The Transformer Book Duet TD300 sports a 13.3 inch IPS multi touch screen with 1920×1080 pixels resolution. It can dual boot into Windows 8.1 or Android 4.2.2. This laptop / tablet hybrid is powered by Intel core i7 processor  – they work twice as fast as traditional tablets (ARM based) available in the market.

The Book Duet also comes with 4GB DDR3L RAM and 128GB internal storage space, plus up to 1TB HDD via keyboard dock. There is a front HD camera with mic for video chats. The keyboard dock come with built in 1TB of additional HDD space.

Key features (including Keyboard dock ) are USB 1x 3.0/ 2x USB 2.0 ports, LAN port, HDMI 1.4, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, DC jack, micro SD card slot and headphone jack. The battery (capacity unknown) gives an estimated usage time of about 5 hours when using the Window OS and around 6 hours on Android 4.2.2.

ASUS Transformer Book Duet TD300 is 12.9mm thick and weight is 1.9kg. No word about the pricing and release dates. Micromax LapTab is another dual boot tab that was recently announced and XOLO too is coming out with windows powered tablet.
