Apple iPhone 5C and 5S officially available; RCom to come up with subsidised plan

The Apple iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S is finally available in India for Rs. 41,900 and Rs. 53,500. According to reports these models have got positive response. Though the price tag of over Rs. 40K might be too much for many users, Reliance Communications (RCOM) is coming up with a new plan that might just be what everyone will be looking for.

RCOM has tied up with Apple Inc to bring forth contract based plans just like in the US. The handset would be subsidized and probably users might have to pay just around 10K for 5C and around 19K for 5S model as booking amount or it could be with zero down payment (not confirmed yet). And then continue paying Rs. 2,500 per month for 5C or Rs. 2,800 for 5S model for a lock-in period of 2 years. The catch? Users will need to use the RCOM network for the whole contract period – the handset will be locked on to the RCOM network.

If you visit the Rcom.co.in website, Reliance has already put up a page that shows a revolutionary way of buying the Apple iPhone from reliance. The scheme will be disclosed in another 4 hours. Will it be with 10K or 18K upfront for the respective models or with it be with zero upfront? Well let’s wait and watch.
