After the launch of Karbonn A9 the next most awaited android smartphone, the Karbonn A7 is now available for a price of under Rs. 8,000. Just like the A9 the A7 also comes with a 1 GHz 800 MHz processing power and some good features.
The Karbonn A7 runs on android 2.3 OS with dual SIM support. The display screen is 3.5 inches, capacitive, multi touch, with resolution of 320×480 pixels which is much better. Detailed information about the handset is still not available.
Initially we thought the handset will be priced at around Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 6,000 and would be a competitor to Micromax A50 Ninja, however the price is well above the estimates at Rs. 7,500 but still cheaper that the Karbonn A9.
The A7 main features are a 1 GHz 800 MHz processor (not sure if it comes with a GPU) and 5 MP camera. The 5 megapixel camera along with dual LED flash and digital zoom is the main highlight. The camera can record still images in 2592 x 1944 pixels. Video recording is also possible.
For connectivity you can use the 3G (HSDPA), or built in Wi-Fi. Other features are Bluetooth, micro USB port, multi format media player, Dual SIM with Dual Standby and 3.5 mm jack. I am not sure if this handset comes with a GPS, but I think it should. The A7 handset come with a powerful 1420 mAh battery and claims a talktime of about 7 hours and standby time of about 14 days.
The handset is priced at Rs. 7,999 but is available for Rs. 7,490 with 8 GB memory card from InfiBeam.com.

Hi the screen size is indeed 3.5 inches and processor is 800 Mhz and not 1 GHz. Will do the review once I get the handset, I think it will take some time, probably next week.

Yes Chandan, thanks have updated the post. Karbonn people are very slow at disclosing the info. There are wrong info about 1 GHz and screen size on almost all sites that are selling this product online.

Hi if price is the issue then A50 is no doubt the best low cost android phone available till date, go for it.
Sir, I was waiting for karbonn a7 for nearly a month for price of 5k. Now they have given a real shocked of it by pricing at 8000 but 7500 is also a high price for this untrusted brand instead we can get htc explorer, samsung, lg etc at this price with full trust, but now decided to buy micromax ninja a50, and also waiting to see unboxing of a7. Rahul, yes I also thought the price will be under 6K. But if you look at the features it is on the higher side, 5 MP, dual LED flash and 1 GHz processor and better screen resolution. Well when I do the review will find out how good it is.
