Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge launched in India for ₹48900 onwards

Samsung Mobiles today launched the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge in the Indian markets with a price tag of ₹48,900 and ₹56,900 respectively (for 32GB version). The Galaxy S7 sports a 5.1 inch screen and the Galaxy S7 Edge sports a 5.5 inch screen – both handsets support Quad HD resolution.

Inside the hood, for the Indian consumers, the S7 and the S7 Edge will be using the Samsung Exynos 64-bit 8890 2.3GHz octa core processor. This handset as mentioned comes in different screen sizes depending on model and it’s using a Super AMOLED screen – always on screen. The S7 Edge in fact comes with curved screen.

Marshmallow runs out of the box with 4GB RAM, 200GB micro SD card support and optional 32GB / 64GB of internal storage space – so far only the 32GB version will be available in India. S7 and S7 Edge is dual SIM handset (hybrid slot) packed with 12MP dual pixel camera on the rear with flash and a 5MP camera on the front. Both the front and rear cameras comes with a f/1.7 aperture that should work really great in low light conditions.

Other features are 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPS with GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, IP68 certified, heart rate sensor, finger print sensor and WiFi.

S7 gets power from a 3000 mAh battery and the S7 Edge from a 3600 mAh battery – both handsets support fast charging (Wall + Wireless).

Samsung Galaxy S7 (32GB) is priced at ₹48,900 and the S7 Edge (32GB) is priced at ₹56,900. These handsets can be pre-ordered now (get free Gear VR Headset on pre-booking) and will be made available from 18th March 2016.
