Samsung Champ Neo review – C3262 Dual SIM entry phone for Rs. 3260

The Samsung Champ Neo duos is an entry level dual SIM handset with basic features and an attractive price tag of Rs. 3,260 only. This is not an android powered phone instead comes loaded with Samsung’s proprietary OS.

This is a very basic phone don’t expect too much out of it. Though it does come loaded with some Social networking  apps and you can even browse the net. For net connectivity you have just one option and that is via GPRS networks. Yes no Wi-Fi, 3G and EDGE networks, just the antique GPRS. Definitely the speed will be pathetic but this is just another basic phone.

Design
The handset has got that classy stylish look with a touchscreen display and 3 dedicated buttons on the front side, following it is the speaker out. The rear side is completely plain with a camera lens on top center and the Samsung logo below it. There is a 3.5mm jack on the top side, volume rockers on the left and lock / power on the right side.

Touchscreen and Memory
Being a low cost phone the Champ Neo Duos comes with a 2.4 inch touchscreen with minimal resolution of 320×240 pixels (167ppi). If you have already used a smartphone before with a better resolution, you are not going to like it. Multi touch is supported.

Memory is just 20MB internal with microSD card slot. The handset runs on proprietary OS and the memory is sufficient for smoother functioning.

Performance
Don’t expect too much from this phone. A good phone for backup, however spending a few hundred more you can get the Micromax Ninja 3 if you are okay with other brands.  The Samsung Champ Neo is basically meant for calling / receiving calls.

It does support dual SIM with dual standby option. The second SIM is hot swappable, which means you can replace the SIM (in slot 2) without the need for a reboot or turning off the phone. There is SNS, you can surf, chat etc but via the GPRS network only.

The handset can play MP4, H.263, MP3, wAAC+ and WAV media files. You do get some games pre-installed and many more can be downloaded. There is no GPS, Wi-Fi, EDGE and 3G. There is Bluetooth 3.0, micro USB port and 3.5 mm jack. A camera on the rear side is of VGA resolution it’s better not to talk about it.

Battery
1000 mAh Li-ion standard battery gets the handset going easily for about 22 days in standby and talktime is about 14 hours. The handset is light weight at 82 grams with 13.5mm thickness.

Review
A basic phone with a good price tag considering the brand. It does lack many features but a good handset to own if you want to use this phone as a phone only i.e. calling / receiving calls.
