What if the back of your smartphone could change colour depending on your body heat or the surrounding temperature? That is one of the unusual features Infinix has introduced with the new HOT 70 Pro 5G.
The smartphone will go on sale in India through Flipkart from September 7 at 12 PM.
The Infinix HOT 70 Pro price in India starts at Rs 22,999 as part of the Day 1 offer, including applicable bank discounts.
Apart from its interesting colour-changing design, the phone also comes with a 144Hz display, 6000mAh battery, IP68 protection and a small interactive LED matrix on the back.
Here is a closer look at what the Infinix HOT 70 Pro offers.
Infinix HOT 70 Pro Price in India and Availability
The HOT 70 Pro will be available in 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB configurations. Under the Day 1 offer, the starting effective price is Rs 22,999, including bank offers.
Buyers can get a flat Rs 2,000 discount using eligible credit cards, debit cards or EMI transactions. Alternatively, customers can get an equivalent Rs 2,000 exchange discount.
There is also No Cost EMI for 3, 6 and 9 months.
The smartphone will be available through Flipkart and retail stores. Online sales begin on September 7 at 12 PM.
There are four colour options: Thermo Orange, Mirage Green, Silk Glow Purple and Dive Blue.
A Design That Changes With the Environment
Infinix calls the new look Dynamic Shine Design. Instead of giving every colour the same finish, the company has added different visual effects depending on the variant you choose.
The Thermo Orange version uses a thermochromic finish. In simple terms, the colour can change depending on temperature, including heat from your hand or changes in the surrounding weather.
Mirage Green reacts to UV light and can glow in the dark, while Silk Glow Purple changes its texture-like appearance depending on the angle from which you look at it.
For those who prefer something more simple, Dive Blue gets a clean matte finish.
Despite these different finishes, the phone remains quite slim at just 7.85mm.
What Is the Active Matrix Cube?
One of the most interesting additions is located inside the rear camera area. Infinix has added a small Active Matrix Cube, or AMC, which works like a customisable LED display.
Instead of being just another notification light, the AMC can show different lighting patterns and provide useful information without requiring you to turn the phone over.
It can light up for incoming calls, messages, charging, low battery alerts, camera activity, video playback, countdowns and weather information. This can be useful when the phone is placed face down on a table.
The AMC also supports simple light-based games such as Lucky Wheel and Lucky Numbers.
Using the Matrix Studio app, users can create their own patterns and emojis. These creations can also be shared with another HOT 70 Pro.
Camera and 144Hz Display
For photography, the Infinix HOT 70 Pro gets a 50MP Sony IMX882 rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and 2x lossless zoom.
There is also Live Photo Mode and an AI Eraser feature. AI Eraser can help remove unwanted people or objects from a photo after it has been captured.
On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera for selfies and video calls.
The smartphone comes with a 6.76 inch FHD+ display offering a smooth 144Hz refresh rate.
It also supports 240Hz touch sampling, which should help improve touch response while gaming.
Brightness can reach up to 910 nits HBM, helping with outdoor visibility. The slim bezels allow the phone to offer a claimed 91.86 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Dimensity 7100 5G, 6000mAh Battery and IP68
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G chipset and uses UFS 2.2 storage.
Infinix says the hardware has been tuned for smooth everyday performance and can support gaming at up to 90fps in compatible mobile games.
Another important addition is IP68 dust and water resistance.
The IP68 rating means the phone is protected against dust and can handle immersion in up to 2 metres of fresh water for around 30 minutes under specified conditions.
This is also the first HOT series smartphone to offer this level of protection.
Battery capacity is 6000mAh, with Infinix claiming up to 27.6 hours of daily usage.
The phone supports 45W FastCharge, which is claimed to charge the battery to around 50 percent in 25 minutes and reach a full charge in approximately 63 minutes.
There is also a Smart Charging feature designed to help maintain battery health over longer periods of use.
Android 16 and One-Tap AI Button
The HOT 70 Pro ships with Android 16 based XOS 16.
Infinix is promising 3 major Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates, giving buyers longer software support.
There is also a dedicated One-Tap AI Button on the phone.
Users can customise this button to quickly launch more than 50 apps. It can also be assigned to Gemini, allowing faster access to Google’s AI assistant.
NFC support is included as well for compatible tap-based services and payments.
