iBall Andi Uddaan launched – first safety smartphone for women

iBall has launched iBall Andi Uddaan dual SIM handset for Rs. 10,990. The Andi Uddaan is what they claim to be the first safety smartphones made especially for women that comes with SOS, ICE and Tracking safety features.

As mentioned this handset is designed for females and comes with safety features like SOS that will alert pre-defined users with a press of a button in case of an emergency. The ICE app on the other hand stores important data like  medical history, emergency  number and blood group.  ICE stands for ‘In case of Emergency‘, this app can be opened by anyone. There is another app called tracking that can be used to track the user’s arrival/ departure for up to 2 areas in India.

The iBall Andi Uddaan sports a 5 inch screen with qHD resolution. It is powered by 1.3GHz cortex A7 dual core processor running Android 4.2 with 512MB RAM. In addition there is 4GB storage and 32GB external SD card support.

There are Gsensor, proximity and light sensors. A 5MP camera is placed on the front with AF features and BSI sensor and an 8MP AF camera on the rear with BSI sensor and dual LED flash support. Other features are 3G (HSPA+ 21Mbps), 2G (EDGE), Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS.

Handset is 11mm thick and weight is 168 grams. Battery is of 2000 mAh capacity. iBall Andi Uddaan is available in white and pink colors for Rs. 10,990. It will hit the stores soon.
