The Hive goes official. XOLO Mobiles launched the XOLO 8X-1000 handsets the first of its kind to run the HIVE. XOLO unveiled this handset + the new system at an event in New Delhi. The 8X-1000 is priced at Rs. 13,999 and is listed on their official website.

The 8X-1000 is octa core – it is using the MTK6592 MediaTek true octa core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz with Mali 450 MP4 GPU (600 MHz). This dual SIM handset runs on HIVE based on Android 4.4.2.

As for the memory and storage there is 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and 32GB external card support. Handset is 7.9mm thick and sports a 5 inch screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution (16M colours). Screen is IPS with 5 point multi touch support. The handset comes with with ASAHI Dragontrail glass on the front and a CORNING® Gorilla® Glass 3 on the back.

There is 8MP rear AF camera with SONY Exmor R sensor and 2MP camera on the front. FHD video recording is supported. There are accelerometer, light, proximity and hall sensor. Key features are 3G (21Mbps), 2G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.

XOLO 8X-1000 octa core with Hive UI

8X-1000 comes with a 1920 mAh Li-ion battery, XOLO claims that the battery can be charged in about 4 hours and gives a talk time of up to 7 hours on 3G.

XOLO 8X-1000 with HIVE will hit the stores soon for Rs. 13,999. The handset does compete with other octa core powered handsets, and is priced the same as Xiaomi MI3. As long as there is shortage of Mi3 the Hive could Thrive.
