Xiaomi Redmi 6 and 6A launched, these are MediaTek powered

Xiaomi announced the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A in China, these are successor to Redmi 5 however this time Xiaomi has used MediaTek chipset on these handsets. For now the handsets are launched in China price starts from Rs. 6,300 (approx) onwards.

This dual SIM handset is running MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1. It features a 5.45 inch screen with 2.5D curved glass and HD+ resolution. Inside the hood this time Xiaomi has used the MediaTek processor, the 6A houses the MediaTek Helio A22 12nm processor, its quad core clocked at 2Ghz.

There is 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM, plus 256GB micro SD support. Rear camera is 13MP and front camera is 5MP. Weight is 145 grams and the Redmi 6A supports 4G with VoLTE. A 3000 mAh battery powers this handset.

This is a more power packed variant. It is also dual SIM featuring a 5.45 inch screen with 2.5D cured glass and HD+ resolution. Inside the hood it is using MediaTek Helio P22 octa core processor, a 12nm processor clocked at 2GHz.

There is 3GB/32GB RAM ROM option and 4GB/64GB option. MIUI 9 based on Oreo runs the show. On the rear there is 12MP + 5MP dual cameras and front camera is 5MP shooter. This one has finger print sensor and also supports 4G with VoLTE. A 3000 mAh battery powers this handset.

Now coming to the price the Redmi 6A with 2GB/16GB is priced at RMB 599 approx Rs. 6,300 and the Redmi 6 3GB/32GB is priced at RMB 799 – approx Rs. 8400 whereas 4GB/64GB is priced at RMB 999 approx Rs. 10,500.

These handsets will go on sale in China within few days.
