Xiaomi today launched their budget smartphone in China, the Redmi 4A successor called the Redmi 5A. This handset is quad core powered using SD 425 chipset and comes with 13MP camera on the rear. 5A houses a 3000 mAh battery and its price in China is RMB 599 that comes to approx Rs. 5,800.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is a dual SIM handset using hybrid slot. It features a 5 inch screen, IPS with HD resolution i.e. 1280 x 720 pixels. Inside the hood it is using the qualcomm snapdragon 425 quad core SoC with Adreno 308 GPU.

Redmi 5A is running MIUI 9 based on Android Nougat 7.1 with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM. There is micro SD card support too – users can use external micro SD card of up to 128GB but only with single SIM card (SIM + MicroSD).

Coming to the camera the rear camera is a 13MP shooter, comes with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED flash support, this rear camera can record videos in 1080p resolution. Front camera can shoot in 5MP resolution and comes with a f/2.0 aperture.

Redmi 5A launched in China

The Redmi 5A does not come with a finger print sensor but does include a IR blaster. Other features are Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4.1. Handset supports 4G with VoLTE and houses a 3000 mAh battery. It is light weight at about 137 grams.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be available in China in Gold, rose gold and silver color options for RMB 599 – approx Rs. 5800.
