Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5 Pro launched starting from RMB 1999

Xiaomi has launched the Mi 5 and the Mi 5 Pro their next flagship models at MWC, Barcelona. These handsets are powered by latest top of the line Snapdragon 820 processor. Mi 5 Pro comes with 4GB on board RAM and 128GB ROM. CPU is 100% faster than snapdragon 810 and GPU is 40% faster than Snapdragon 810.

Xiaomi Mi 5 got 142,084 score on Antutu. Mi 5 is insanely fast,  powered by Snapdragon 820 2nd gen 14nm quad core processor clocked at 2.2GHz (64 bit) – double the performance and half the power consumption. It is using 530 Adreno GPU.

Screen (ultra thin Bezel) is 5.2 inches supporting full HD resolution. MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 runs the show (Mi 5 is first Mi device running Marshmallow) with 4GB RAM LPDDR4 and 64GB storage. There is 16MP 4 axis OIS camera on the rear using SONY IMX298 sensors and 4K recording. DTI (pixel to pixel isolation tech) and PDAF (Phase detection Auto Focus) supported. Front camera is a 4MP shooter.

Mi 5 comes with curved edges on the back – transition from glass to metal. It is 7.25mm thick and weight is 129 grams with battery. Key features are 4G+ (600Mbps) with VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, GPS, USB Type C port, NFC (with NFC write mode), front fingerprint scanner, IR, Bluetooth and GPS. This handset gets power from a 3000 mAh battery – QC 3.0 support. Can charge 80% – to 90% in just about an hour.

Xiaomi Mi 5 PRO with 4GB RAM, 128GB ROM with 3D ceramic body is priced at RMB 2699 (approx ₹28,300), 64GB ROM +3GB RAM version for RMB 2299 (approx ₹24,100). Mi 5 with 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM + 3D glass body is priced at RMB 1999 (approx ₹20,900).
