Inside the box you will find the Wammy one handset, 2800 mAh battery, free flip cover, free plastic case, travel charger, data cable, earphone and user guide.

Design, Display and OS
The Wammy one looks good. I got the golden and white colour handset for the review. It is light weight and got a pretty attractive design. Build quality is good and finishing is much better. Weight with battery is 133 grams and dimensions are 71.07 x 145.81 x 7.83 (mm).

It’s glossy white on the front, sides are golden colour and the rear is with a matte finish. Power button and volume rockers are on the left side and on the top there is a 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB port.

This is a dual SIM handset with 2 micro SIM slots and there is micro SD card slot that supports 32GB external cards.

The Wammy One comes with a 5 inch IPS OGS screen with low resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Colour reproduction, touch and viewing angles are good. There are 3 sensors accelerometer, proximity and light. Though the magnetic sensor is mentioned on the box, it did not work with the compass app.

The handset houses the 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592 Octa core processor with Mali 450 MP GPU. The performance is lag free.

Benchmark

Gaming
I tried Asphalt 8 and Modern combat 5. Both games got installed on internal storage. Both the games were playable and smooth. Asphalt 8 did well in high graphics mode.

Others
Sound is loud, clear. In call should is also good enough. No issues found with GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi. Air and draw gestures are supported (check video review). The flip cover is non-magnetic – the screen will not switch on when you open the flip.

Battery
There is 2800 mAh removable battery. Here is how the battery performed.

WickedLeak Wammy One 2800 mAh battery

Task Time Battery drop (%) (max temp)
Running Benchmark apps 25 minutes 11% (NA)
FHD video playback with Wi-Fi on + full brightness 23 minutes 15% (NA)
Asphalt 8 + MC5 GamePlay 21 minutes 11% (NA)
Full wall Charge Under 3 hours 20% to 100%

You can expect battery backup of 3 to 4 hours with continuous usage. The handset does get a bit warm when using heavy applications (it’s normal).

Verdict
The wammy one specifications are good and price is just right. However the Redmi Note 3G is better but unfortunately not available as of now and there is another handset coming up the Micromax Yu Yureka that also looks quite promising.

Wammy One performance is good, smooth however the battery backup is just about average (3 to 4 hours), considering a 2800 mAh battery it should have given a better backup.

Rating : 3.5 out of 5.
