The Wammy Titan comes powered by MT6577 dual core processor with 1GB RAM and Jelly Bean OS with a different user interface. This handset is priced at Rs 13,000 (13,250 or so with shipping). If you think the price is too much well it’s with a 5.5. inch qHD screen.

The box Pack
Inside the box you will find the handset, a flip case (without the Wickedleak logo – in case you don’t like it), quality earphone, 2800 mAh battery (on the box its written 2500 mAh), a capacitive pen, charger, USB to Micro USB cable, screen guard and user manual.

Inside the hood
It’s the same MediaTek powered device like the A110, Iris 501, iBall 4.5h, iBall 4.5q etc, with PowerVR SGX 531 GPU. There is an 8MP rear camera and front 2MP camera for video chat. The handset comes with 1GB RAM and 4GB internal storage with micro SD card slot. There is 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and built in GPS. The handset runs on the Jelly Bean OS.

Design
The Wammy Titan handset is slightly lengthier than the Micromax A110, width wise it’s almost the same and weighs 160 grams. There is a dedicated button on the front with touch sensitive button on each side. The volume rockers are placed on the left, power on the right, 3.5mm audio jack on top and micro USB port on the bottom side.

On the rear you will find the 8MP lens with LED flash and the Wickedleak logo. Thankfully the flip cover is without the logo. The display screen is big at 5.5 inches with 960×540 pixels resolution. There is light, proximity and G-sensors.

Performance
When you start the phone for the first time you will immediately get impressed by the high quality screen, sharpness, clarity and the user interface. Touch is smooth and responsive and performance is good it does lag for a bit (very mild) when you come back to the home screen but that is cause of the heavy background animated wallpaper but even with that it has no effect on other apps running or when playing games.

Wammy Titan review

Benchmark Score

  • Quadrant Benchmark : 2776.
  • Antutu Benchmark : 6495.
  • Nenamark2 : 20.4fps.
  • Linpack : Single 39, Multi 62.
  • Multi Touch : 5 point.

Camera
I am not happy with the Wammy Titan camera sharpness, I found it better on Iris 501 and A110.  The camera quality it seems is like on Zopo ZP900. Check the sample images at the end of the article. And yes you can record videos in 720p, again the sample at the end of the article. Though its mentioned on the box pack that the camera is of 8MP resolution you get the 12MP option too.

Gaming and Entertainment
It plays Modern Combat 3 game pretty well (check the gaming video). If it can play MC3 it can also play many other games. The MX player can play 720p videos but cannot play 1080p videos.

Battery
The 2800 mAh battery gives a working time of over 2 days with moderate usage.

Wammy Titan Review
I liked the big size 5.5 inches, the User Interface, the screen quality which is better than what have seen on other handsets with MTK6577 processor. The GPS gets a lock within 30 seconds. Its dual SIM with dual standby mode. Rest features are same as on A110. Speaker / in call sound is loud and clear.

If you have a low budget the Celkon A200 is a good option – same thing but with a smaller screen, ICS and lower screen resolution. If your budget is limited to 10K then either go with Lava Iris 501 or A110 – if you can get A110 it for under 10,500 cause as per user comments some shop owners are selling it for over 12K.

The handsets listed above are with 512MB RAM, so if you want to go with 1GB RAM there is the iBall Andi 4.5h that is priced at 12,490. The Wammy Titan I think is a better option than 4.5h as it comes with bigger and better screen, flip cover, bigger battery and running on Jelly Bean OS with 1GB RAM (minus the camera).
