Xshot comes with LED notification and loaded with accelerometer, light, proximity, thermal, gyro and magnetic sensors. Xshot supports single SIM (4G/3G/2G) – you need a micro SIM.

Touch screen is 5.2 inches (IPS) supporting 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. There is no mentioned about any protection on the screen in fact the review unit I got had a factory fitted screen guard. Colour reproduction is very good, touch is smooth / responsive and viewing angles are also great.

Vivo Xshot review and unboxing

This smartphone is running FunTouch OS based on Android 4.3. Android Jelly Bean is pretty much outdated and I am not sure if the company will be providing future updates.

Vivo Xshot review

Performance
The Xshot houses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad core processor Krait 400 clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with Adreno 330 GPU clocked at 578MHz. Performance is very smooth though the handset does get heated up when using heavy applications.

Antutu 41686
Vellamo Metal (1482) Multi core (1806) Browser (NA)
Nenamark 2 60.9 fps
Multi Touch 10 point

Gaming
I played Asphalt 8, game got installed on external storage, game play was very smooth. Check video review for the gaming action.

Camera and Entertainment
The Vivo Xshot comes with 13MP rear AF camera with dual LED flash and fixed focus front camera of 8MP resolution with flash (flash for front camera). Rear camera is with a f/1.8 aperture that captures excellent shots in low light conditions, check the street light shot in HDR mode – almost feels like it was shot in daylight.

Focusing is fast. You can also use the dedicated camera button. Press the button a little to focus and then all the way down to take the shot. Focusing at times is not that sharp probably a software glitch, but in general the camera quality is excellent.

Vivo Xshot front camera with LED flash

Rear camera can shoot fast / slow motion videos and even 4K videos for up to 5 minutes. The camera app also comes with pro mode wherein you will get manual control for a lot of options (check video).

Others
Apart from the heat up that happened when using heavy apps including the camera app, I did not find any other issues. Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and Bluetooth worked well. Sound is loud and clear.

The FunTouch OS has got a slightly different interface it will take some time getting used to. Check the video review for more.

Battery
There is a 2600 mAh non-removable battery gives 3 to 6 hours of continuous usage time (moderate to heavy). The battery takes about 3 hours to fully charge.

Task Time Battery drop (%) (max temp)
Running Benchmark apps 19 minutes 9% (36)
FHD video playback with Wi-Fi on + full brightness 18 minutes 5% (36)
Asphalt 8 Game Play 13 minutes 5% (38)
Full Wall Charge 3 hours 5 minutes 5 to 100%

Verdict
Vivo Xshot has got a powerful hardware backed by smooth functioning customized OS FunTouch (based on Android 4.3). Overall performance and camera quality is excellent. OTG is supported and you can install apps on external storage. Battery performance is also decent enough.

No word if the handset will get further updates. I am not sure if Vivo Xshot is available in India as of now, I guess the price tag will be somewhere around for Rs. 30K.

If it indeed is priced at Rs. 30K then there are other handsets using the same chipset available for a cheaper price.
