Videocon A42 with dual core computing power running Jelly Bean 4.2 over a 4.5 inch screen has been launched for a price tag of Rs. 7,490. This is a dual SIM handset with 3G support.

The Videocon A26, Videocon A45 and the Videocon A27i handsets are already available in the market for a price tag starting from Rs. 5,799 to Rs. 6,200. The A42 with an 11mm thickness is priced higher than these models.

Videocon’s new A42 comes powered by dual core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. It comes loaded with 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. Touch screen is 4.5 inches supporting a resolution of 854×480 pixels.

This handset houses a rear camera of 5 megapixel resolution with LED support and another camera placed on the front of 1.3 megapixel resolution. 3G (3.75G), 2G (EDGE / GPRS), Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 4 are supported. In addition there is micro USB port and a 3.5mm audio jack. A42 comes with G-Sensor, light and proximity sensors.

A 1700 mAh battery powers up the handset with estimated talk time of 4 hours. The A42 will soon be available in Black and White colour option for Rs. 7,490.
