The awaited Xperia Z2 has been launched in India for a price of Rs. 49,990. If you think the price is too high, you might get relieved (a little bit) – Sony is giving a free Sony fitness tracker smart band (worth Rs. 5,590) with the Z2. And after that little bit of relief one more disappointment – the Indian version does not support 4G.

The Z2 hardware part is impressive. It houses the MSM8974AB Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad core chipset @ 2.3GHz playing around with the Adreno 330 GPU. There is 3GB on board RAM and 16GB built-in internal storage. The good part is that, micro SD card of up to 64GB is supported (just in case if you feel that the 16GB space is too less).

Xperia Z2 sports a 5.2 inch screen with Triluminos display that also uses the X-Reality technology. Screen resolution is FHD (1920 x 1080p). On the camera part the Z2 is loaded with a 20.7 megapixel camera on the rear with LED flash and a 2.2 MP on the front.

Handset weight with battery is 163 grams and thickness is 8.2mm. The Z2 is water proof (IP55 and IP58 certified) and dust resistant (IP55 certified). The 3200 mAh battery gives talk-time of up to 19 hours.

Sony Xperia Z2 now in India for Rs. 50K

Sony Xperia Z2 will hit the stores within few days for Rs. 49,990 the – package includes a free Sony Smart Band fitness tracker worth Rs. 5,990), FHD cricket game (full version), free BigFlix subscription for 3 months, 6 HD movies for download and Sony case worth Rs. 3000.

It is really surprising that the big brands are launching their handsets (big in features but) without the 4G support in India.
