Samsung Omnia M S7530 has found its way into the Indian markets, as expected this WP phone is priced under Rs. 16000, Rs. 15900 to be precise. The Omnia M was first announced in May 2012.
This handset from Samsung mobiles fits in a 5MP camera placed at the rear along with front camera for video chats. A single core processor clocked at 1GHz is the force behind it. The screen resolution is impressive at 800×480 pixels.
The RAM however has been trimmed down to 384MB which according to Samsung is more than sufficient to run the Windows Phone 7.5 (Tango) mobile operating system. There is even a built in storage of 4GB. The company has also revealed that the Samsung Omina M S7530 will not get an official Windows Phone 8 update.
On the other hand Microsoft recently announced that the WP 7.5 users will be eligible for a WP 7.8 update this year. And probably the Omnia M may also fall into this category along with other low end Windows OS based smartphones like the Nokia Lumia 610.
The Samsung Omnia M S7530 weighs 119 grams with 10.5mm thickness. The super AMOLED screen is 4 inches supporting 16M colours. The handset supports 3G (HSDPA 7.2, HSUPA 5.6), 2G (GPRS, EDGE), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS and micro USB 2.0.
The 5MP camera comes with LED flash support and loaded with features such as Auto focus, HD video recording, Geo-tagging, Auto Motion blur reduction and Image Stabilization. Other features are GPS with A-GPS support, front camera, Multi format media player, Social networking ready and a 3.5 mm audio jack.
Users will get free access to SkyDrive Cloud storage. Also do note that there is no external storage support, i.e. there is no MicroSD card slot so you get is the 4GB internal storage and the cloud storage.
The Samsung Omnia M S7530 windows 7.5 phone (4GB) version price in India is Rs. 15,900 which seems to be decent enough looking at the specs, the OS and the brand.
