3.2 MP camera
The Trend houses a fixed focus 3.2MP camera (without flash support) that can record videos in 640×480 pixels (VGA) resolution. The camera and the video quality looks good considering the specs. You can check the sample images / video at the end. There is no front camera.

Gaming and Entertainment
You cannot install apps on external storage. I downloaded dead trigger and played that in high graphics mode. The game play was smooth initially but later on started lagging. Even in low graphics mode you can feel the lag.

You can play 720p videos in hardware mode using MX player, in software mode the audio / video is out of sync.

Others
Loud speaker output and in call speaker output is loud and clear. 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS worked well. Got the GPS lock within 10 seconds. The handset starts lagging a lot once you install many apps.

1500 mAh battery
As per Samsung on a full charge the battery gives a talktime of up to 8 hours. You can check the gaming video, I played the game for 8 minutes and the battery dropped by 4% (this was with full brightness).

Galaxy Trend Verdict
This dual SIM single core handset gives you the feel of a high end Samsung handset (TouchWiz 4.0 interface) for an affordable price, with some lag of course. The price of under Rs. 8,500 may not be a budget friendly price tag for many considering the hardware. For those who are brand conscious this could be a good option, for others who really don’t care – you can get a better deal for the around the same price.
