18 years old Esha Khare of Saratoga, California has developed a device that won her $50K at Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix. She invented a device that can charge a mobile is just 20 seconds.

This super capacitor device is kind of an addon that will fit easily in any handset. When you connect the charger the super capacitor charges up quickly and stores a good volume of power in a small space. It may then supply power to the device (act as a battery) or could charge the main battery.  The device is so small and if it could replace the traditional battery on a cell phone it will not only make the phone efficient but also extremely light weight. For now Esha used the device to power on LED. She said that one day her invention will quickly recharge gadgets, batteries, cell phones and even electric cars.

Like many of the mobile phone users she was never happy with the battery life and it also took a long time to recharge, this inspired her to explore the energy storage options. The device she invented can handle 10K recharge cycles which is much more approx 10x more than the normal batteries.

Probably in the near future we will be able to re-charge the devices within few seconds or minutes.
