Along with the Redmi Note 5, Xiaomi also launched the Redmi Note 5 Pro in India. I call this the Made for Everyone handset, why? read this Redmi Note 5 Pro review to know more. This handset comes with dual cameras on the back and houses a 4000 mAh non-removable battery.

Overall performance is great, this Redmi Note 5 Pro in fact is using the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa core processor with Adreno 509 GPU. The hardware is powerful, hardly heats up and the 4000 mAh battery works in perfect combination – giving you performance with mileage.

There are dual cameras of 12MP + 5MP on the rear and they capture pretty impressive shots, front camera is 20MP and that too does a really good job, in fact as good as the dual cameras when it comes to bokeh effects.

Redmi Note 5 Pro Camera  Review

Rear Camera : 12MP (f/2.2)+5MP(f/2.0), auto focus, LED flash
Front Camera : 20MP, IMX376 SONY sensor
Video Recording : FHD resolution, with image stabilization

Camera quality is excellent, natural shots and the bokeh effects is just about perfect. When using dual cameras the edge detection is pretty good and in fact even the front camera can shoot really good bokeh selfies.

The FHD video recording quality is perfect, but what impressed me was the image stabilization, check the video review to see that in action.

Camera Rating : 4.4 out of 5

  5. Hogi bhai, I have previously used moto g4 plus which also has popped out camera and glass was not scratch resistant. Want to know if camera cover glass here is prone to scratches in daily use due to its design.

  7. Thanks for the review Gogi…design wise (rear part) it is thumbs down for Xiaomi.

Xiaomi could have implemented the rear cover design similar to Mi A1.

      1. It was mentioned in the launch video that it does have GG. But didn’t specify which version..

          1. Flipkart page does mention mi note 5 pro to have GG..
So there is Gorilla glass on note 5 but not on 5 pro ??
            This is really strange.

  19. Xiaomi is funny company…. they ripoff apple iPhone (ugly camera bump) & call their product better than iPhone in camera quality. They forgot their simple elegant design philosophy & now trying to copy apple & google design.

    1. I think the exposure appears to be fine for most shots of the main camera, thats how metering works for most scenes. For the front camera i m sure some kind of intelligence detects the faces and tries to expose the face properly, which may lead to overexposure, perticularly towards the brighter part of the scene.

  20. Holly Hell!
I’m really impressed with the Camera…

    Damn Awesome!
    Itna badhiya camera 14000 men!

    Kamal hai Xiaomi Sach men!
    Hats off….

    1. RAM management is about adjusting, making use of free space available. Based on every new install the usage space is reconsidered. Those who cannot even write a code talk nonsense.

        1. question about something which we are not aware of is one thing that is acceptable no matter how gross the question is. Unnecessary blaming is something which creates confusion when you yourself are not aware of what you are talking.

          1. Look at the original comment, only so so ram available, worst ram management. Now people who have no idea about tech will only see the words ‘worst’ and that makes a huge impact to them. So why would anyone accept such mindless comments?

      1. Well comments section is meant for peoples’ opinions, even if they may be grossly wrong. You should be a bit more humble towards some of us who are a bit less gifted…just my two cents

        1. True but such people create confusion, and unfortunately such caliber users are also reviewers, they just have no idea about, thankfully no one blamed global warming for lags.

      2. If that is true, why does it always go down when we have unclosed apps. As usable ram is rather low, we will have to manually close apps. Or suffer from lagging. You don’t have to write code to experience these simple things.

        1. Apps will be closed if you are not using them occasionally. Lags could happen cause of some other apps that may not be optimized. There are a lot of reasons. You are right you don’t need to write codes to experience things, but when you have no idea about why there is an issue better not to complain about technicalities of things you do not know, I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

      3. Wouldn’t making lesser adjustments will be better 🙂 Any amount of Additional free RAM will not HURT. Humans being emotional get hurt and losses patience and behave erratic.

        1. It is not RAM it is Storage space, less storage space means RAM management will become less effective, you need more free storage space with time or you manage that yourself.

  22. Does SD636 supports dual volte simultaneously. Will this phone support. If yes than must buy since Airtel Vodafone all are providing volte now. We may see lots of phone coming this year with same feature like honor view 10

    1. its not even in any snapdragon specs/roadmaps..why u asking?
      only in 2018 mediatek (p70)chips & 2018 spreadtrum(intel ‘s) its available.
