Redmi 5 is the latest handset by Mi India that was launched in India and I have already done the review of the same. This compact powerhouse will go on sale today on Amazon and Mi.com. Price starts from Rs. 7,999 and you will get extra 5% off if you use SBI Credit Cards.
Redmi 5 first sale will begin at 12PM today, you can buy this from Amazon website (Amazon Exclusive) or from Mi.com website. The price starts from Rs. 7,999 for 2GB/16GB variant. On Amazon the 16GB and 32GB is listed with just 2 color options.
Seems like in this first sale you will get two color choice you can either go with Gold or Black color options. Not sure if other color options will be available on Mi.com website. Redmi 5 is Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa core powered.

Maybe they should priced the 2gb/16gb version for 6999 instead of 7999. That would have changed the equations tremendously.

it has 5.7 inch screen and octa core processor, so they priced it 7999. And 1 more thing if they price it 6999, then difference between redmi 5a and redmi 5 will only is 1000, which would confuse people more. So for all the reasons it is the right price. ☺☺

Redmi series was mostly for compact phone lover. Now they have spoiled it with such a big form factor. I always it want to be max 5.2 inch screen with low bezal and 18:9 ratio.

Not able to buy mi tv 55 since last 3 sales. Pin code 361005 ahowing error. How come they delivered 4 phones in that same pin code in last two years to me.

Local retailers sell Redmi note 5 pro more than 16 k and says he can purchase Redmi note 5 pro 15.5 k to 16 k from you.

Not every sale is a flash sale, what is important is that 4 Lakh + units sold out / will be sold out. The 2GB/16GB most will not prefer but it will also go out of stock. The point here is the Redmi 5 is selling, we know the estimate stocks figure. Is 4 lakh selling in few hours or even a day bad?

4 lakhs units available doesn’t mean all are sold. Earlier they never disclosed how many they will put on sale for any model. They anticipated poor demand and resorting to these tactics so that intelligent people will come up with such logics.
Even my theory may be wrong on the numbers. But, Redmi 5 could be a rare flop from Xiaomi.

Amazon is better than flipkart for such sales where there are few users who would add to card but not buy, after few minutes the product is removed and made available for the next in waiting list. You know if you are in the waiting list.

Gogi, I ordered both Honor 9 Lite Blue for 11k and Asus Zenfone 3 max 5.5 ZC553KL Gold for 9k. Which is better value for money among these 2? Asus 3 Max will be getting Oreo update soon.
