The Battery Story

8000mAh is the number realme is betting everything on here. At this price point, no other phone in the segment ships with this much battery. Realme claims three full days of usage on a single charge. The phone stays 8.8mm thin and weighs 224 grams, which is reasonable for the capacity.

The 45W Fast Charge support means you’re not waiting forever when it does run low. There’s also bypass charging, which routes power directly to the processor during gaming sessions, keeping the battery out of the heat loop. One Tap Cooling adds another layer of thermal management. For BGMI and Free Fire players, realme says the phone holds a stable 60fps during extended sessions.

Battery longevity gets attention too. The cell is rated for over 1,600 charge cycles and is engineered to retain more than 80% health after seven years. AI Night Charging and AI Cold Charging Mode help stretch that lifespan further.

The 5300mm² AirFlow Vapour Chamber is a segment-first claim. That’s a large VC for this price, and it’s doing real work keeping temps manageable during heavy loads.

Display and Design

The 6.8-inch 144Hz Sunlight Display peaks at 1,200 nits. That’s enough for outdoor use in Indian summer conditions, though “Sunlight Display” branding needs to be taken with appropriate skepticism until real-world testing confirms it.

Colours available: Titanium Glare, Silver Glare, and Lavender Glare. The design features what realme calls a Floating Light finish, inspired by light trails and mirror reflections. There’s also a customizable Pulse Light effect and AI Power Light for notification and battery status glancing.

Audio gets a Super Linear Speaker with 400% Ultra Volume. Loud speakers on budget phones are often tinny, but 400% Ultra Volume has delivered decent results on recent realme devices.

Camera

The 50MP AI Camera with an F1.8 aperture is the primary shooter. AI Portrait Glow, AI Eraser 2.0, AI Ultra Clarity, and AI Unblur are the software tools backing it up. Motion Photo support works on both front and rear cameras.

For daily productivity, there’s a Text Scanner with AI document optimization and an AI Assistant for Notes. Google Gemini is baked in for writing, planning, and brainstorming tasks. The AI Anti-Theft and Google Remotely Lock features add security on top.

Performance and Durability

The processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, running realme UI 7.0 based on Android. It’s a capable mid-range chip, well-suited for the daily tasks this phone is built for.

The ArmorShell Tough Build has passed MIL-STD-810H military-grade shock resistance testing. IP65 dust and water resistance means splashes and rain are not a concern. Realme guarantees 48 months of performance fluency, which translates to about four years of smooth operation. Software support extends to 2+3 years of OS and security updates.

Should You Buy It?

At Rs 16,999 for the base variant, the realme P4R 5G makes a strong case purely on battery capacity. Eight thousand milliampere-hours at this price is genuinely hard to argue with. The 144Hz display, military-grade build, and 45W charging round out a package that covers the fundamentals well.

The Dimensity 6300 is not the fastest chip at this price, and the camera will need testing before any verdict. But if your primary complaint about your current phone is that it dies by evening, this one deserves a serious look.
