OPPO F35 Pro 5G Review: 50MP Group Selfie Camera, 8000mAh Battery, Pros and Cons

A phone with an 8000mAh battery, a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera and IP69K protection already sounds unusual. The OPPO F35 Pro 5G brings all three together, with a starting price of ₹45,999 in India.

The big attraction here is the front camera. It is designed for group selfies, family photos and travel shots where you usually struggle to fit everyone into the frame. But at this price, the rest of the phone also needs to deliver.

This OPPO F35 Pro 5G review covers the price, specifications, camera performance, battery, durability, software, key differences from the regular F35, and the pros and cons you should know before buying.

OPPO F35 Pro 5G Price in India and Variants

OPPO is selling the F35 Pro 5G in three memory and storage options. The main hardware, including the cameras, display and battery, remains the same across all three variants.

Ten Years of the OPPO F Series

OPPO’s F series has completed ten years in India. It started in 2016 with the F1, which was promoted as the “Selfie Expert”.

The new OPPO F35 series takes that idea further with the tagline “Group Selfie Expert”. If you read our earlier OPPO F35 series launch confirmation, this is the final version of the phone that followed those early details.

There are two models in the series, the F35 Pro and the more affordable F35. This review mainly focuses on the Pro, while also pointing out the important differences between the two.

Design: Sunrise Orange Stands Out

The OPPO F35 Pro 5G comes in Sunrise Orange, Wave Blue and Twilight Brown. Sunrise Orange has a softer finish, so it looks different without being too loud.

OPPO calls the rear camera section the Smile Curve design. Small sparkling particles inside the camera area catch the light, and OPPO refers to this finish as Starry Sea.

The rear panel is 1.5mm thick and uses a composite polymer made from acrylic and polycarbonate. According to OPPO, it is more resistant to shattering than a glass back.

The handset is 8.42mm thick and weighs around 210 grams. Considering that it carries a very large 8000mAh battery, the body is surprisingly slim.

50MP Ultra-Wide Selfie Camera Explained

This is the feature that gives the F35 Pro its identity. The front camera uses a 50MP sensor measuring 1/2.88 inch, with an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus.

It offers a 100 degree field of view, which is close to what a 0.6x ultra-wide rear camera shows on many phones. In normal words, it simply captures much more of the scene in front of you.

That is useful for family functions, office groups and holidays with friends. You can fit more people into the frame without stretching your arm too far or asking everyone to squeeze together.

AI Auto Wide-Angle Switch can also widen the frame automatically when more faces appear in the shot.

Another feature is Natural Tone 2.0, which comes from OPPO’s Reno series. OPPO says it has been tuned for Indian skin tones and is meant to keep faces looking more natural instead of heavily processed.

That helps reduce the smooth, artificial beauty-filter look that is still common on many selfie cameras.

Rear Cameras and 4K Video on Both Sides

The rear camera setup is also better equipped than the regular F35.

Rear HardwareDetails
Main camera50MP, 1/2 inch sensor, f/1.8, OIS
Ultra-wide camera8MP, f/2.2, autofocus
FlashDual-unit flash, compared with a single flash on the previous generation

OIS, or optical image stabilisation, allows the lens to move slightly to reduce hand shake. It helps with sharper low-light photos and steadier video.

The main camera also supports in-sensor zoom, so 2x photos can hold more detail than a basic digital crop. The updated portrait mode improves edge separation and adds bokeh light effects in the background.

A major upgrade is 4K video at 30fps from both the front and rear cameras. The earlier F33 Pro was limited to 1080p video.

You also get Ultra Steady mode and Dual View video, which records with the front and rear cameras at the same time. This can be handy for travel videos and selfie-style vlogging.

Editing features such as AI Popout and AI Remix Collage are included for people who want to quickly prepare content for Instagram and other social platforms.

Camera performance ranges from above average to excellent depending on the situation. The selfie camera is clearly the strongest part of the package, especially for users who shoot a lot of front-camera photos or travel videos.

The regular F35 misses out on the rear ultra-wide camera and OIS, while its video recording tops out at 2.5K.

Display: Bright 1.5K AMOLED with 144Hz

The OPPO F35 Pro 5G specifications include a 6.78 inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a quoted 144Hz refresh rate.

There is one small catch. The full 144Hz mode is used only in selected situations. For regular use, the panel works adaptively up to 120Hz, which is still very smooth.

Brightness goes up to 1800 nits in HBM mode and reaches a 3600 nits peak. HBM, or high brightness mode, is what helps the screen stay readable when you are outside in strong sunlight.

The panel also supports 2160Hz PWM dimming. PWM is the method many OLED screens use to control brightness by flickering very quickly. A higher frequency can feel more comfortable to some users, especially at lower brightness levels.

The standard F35 gets a smaller 6.57 inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

OPPO F35 Pro Processor and Performance

The OPPO F35 Pro processor is the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 MAX, built on a 4nm process. In testing, the phone scored around 10 lakh points on AnTuTu.

Cooling is handled by a vapor chamber. It spreads heat away from the chipset, and the phone remained cool even while running heavier apps.

There is one hardware choice worth keeping in mind at this price. The phone uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Both work fine, but several competing phones now offer faster LPDDR5 memory and UFS 4.0 storage.

The regular F35 uses the Dimensity 6360 MAX, which sits much lower in the performance ladder.

8000mAh Battery and 80W SUPERVOOC Charging

Both F35 models come with a huge 8000mAh battery and 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging. Battery life is one of the biggest strengths here, and for normal use you are unlikely to worry about charging during the day.

Battery TestResult
YouTube playbackAbout 21 hours
BGMI gamingAbout 12.5 hours
Daily mixed useEasily over one day

OPPO claims the battery can retain more than 80% of its capacity after 1,800 charging cycles. That is the reason the company markets it as a six year durable battery.

The phone also supports reverse wired charging. With a cable, you can use the F35 Pro to give power to earbuds, a smartwatch or even another phone.

IP69K Rating and Durability

The OPPO F35 Pro 5G carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. These ratings describe protection from dust and water, with IP69K sitting at the toughest end of the scale for this type of consumer device.

In everyday use, the phone is designed to handle rain, accidental water exposure and high-pressure water jets. OPPO also says it can cope with hot water temperatures of up to 85 degrees Celsius.

Rainstorm Touch is meant to keep the screen responsive even when it is wet. The phone has also gone through an SGS 16 procedure reliability test.

Inside the phone, an aluminium alloy frame and airbag-style cushioning are used to protect components. It is the sort of build that makes sense for Indian weather, from heavy monsoon rain to hot summer days.

ColorOS 16 and AI Features

The phone runs ColorOS 16 and comes with several AI-based tools. You can also read our ColorOS 16 rollout in India article for a wider look at the software update.

AI Call Guard can detect AI-generated voices during calls and identify deepfake faces during WhatsApp video calls. With scam attempts becoming more sophisticated, this could be a useful safety feature.

AI Ultra Clear can scan documents and turn them into PDFs, while AI Writer can help prepare captions and posts.

Shake to Pay opens the Google Pay or PhonePe QR scanner when you shake the handset twice. OPPO is also promising six years of smoothness protection.

Rivals in the Same Price Range

If performance matters more than the selfie camera, there are other phones worth comparing at this price. The Vivo S2 and Motorola Edge 70 Pro sit in a similar range and should be checked before making the final decision.

Final Verdict on the OPPO F35 Pro 5G

The OPPO F35 Pro 5G has a very clear target audience. If you take lots of selfies, group photos or travel videos, the 50MP ultra-wide front camera gives this phone a real advantage over many regular smartphones.

The 8000mAh battery and IP69K durability make the package even more practical. It is built for long days, travel, rain and the kind of rough everyday use a phone can face in India.

The main compromise is performance value. The Dimensity 7360 MAX, LPDDR4X RAM and USB 2.0 port are not class-leading for a phone starting at ₹45,999. Gamers and power users should compare a few alternatives before buying.

For buyers who care more about selfies, vlogging, battery life and durability, though, the F35 Pro 5G is one of the more interesting selfie-focused phones of 2026. You can check the latest OPPO F35 Pro 5G price and offers before the festive deals end on 21 October.
