Obi mobiles have launched the S401 dual SIM smartphone that is powered by a dual core processor (MT6572) from MediaTek and it runs on Android KitKat OS with 512MB RAM. The price tag has not been disclosed but by looking at the specifications it could be priced well under Rs. 4,500.

The Obi S401 is also called the Racoon. Apart from the on-board 512 MB RAM the S401 also comes with 4 Gigs of internal storage and a micro SD slot with 32 GB support. Handset is light weight at 109 grams and both the SIM slots support 3G. It comes with a TFT capacitive touch screen of size 4 inches with 800 x 480 (WVGA) resolution.

The handset also comes with a front camera of 2 MP resolution plus a rear camera of 5 MP resolution. It is a low budget smartphone and it is with a fixed focus camera. FOTA firmware over the air updates are supported and key features are 3G, 2G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and GPS. There are two sensors gravity and proximity.
