The Lumia 630 is upgraded Lumia 625 (kind off), it comes with quad core processor as compared with the dual core on the 625 however using a different chipset. But in general the dual SIM Lumia 630 sports a smaller screen, smaller battery and there is more to it. Read the review to find out.

Box Pack
The box packing is slim, it houses the Lumia 630, battery of 1830 mAh capacity, quick start guide, travel charger with micro USB pin and well that’s it. The earphone and data cables are not included in the box pack.

Design and Display
The 630 looks almost similar to the 625 however the 625 is curvier. The rear cover is with matte finish, build and the finishing is very good. 630 handset weight with battery is 136 grams and it’s about 10mm thick.

The front is complete black because of the single glass (OGS) that covers almost all of the front part. There are no dedicated buttons and hence the on-screen navigation buttons will be active when you switch on the phone.

There is the micro USB port at the bottom, power / volume rockers on the right and 3.5mm audio jack on the top. This is a dual SIM handset (you need 2 micro SIM’s) with dual standby mode. The front camera is missing.

The LCD clear Black screen is 4.5 inches supporting FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels resolution) some part is used by the on-screen buttons. Viewing angles are pretty good though screen does get a bit darker from certain angles. Touch is very smooth, responsive and colour reproduction is good. Screen is with corning gorilla glass 3 protection.

There is no light sensor and you will need to manually adjust the brightness levels, the proximity sensors are also missing. Thankfully  accelerometer is present.

Performance
Being a quad core the performance is pretty smooth and lag free. The 630 houses a 1.2GHz quad core qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (cortex A7) chipset coupled with Adreno 305GPU.

Gaming
This handset is running on Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1, I downloaded Asphalt 8 from the Microsoft store. There was no option to set the graphics level but looking at the game it definitely was not set to the highest. Game play however was smooth.

Camera and Entertainment
There is only one camera of 5MP resolution on the rear that too without LED support. The camera quality is pretty good and so is the 720p video recording at 30fps. You can check the sample images at the end of the review. The Lumia 630 can play full HD videos. The camera supports lens (effects) you can download more lenses from the store. There are 3 modes – photo, video and burst shot. There was no option to set the camera megapixel resolution.

Others
Sound is very loud (it is usually loud on Nokia handsets) and clear. 3G, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi worked without issues.

1830 mAh removable Battery
I used the handset for about 13 minutes playing the asphalt 8 game. Battery dropped by 6%. You can play the game for up to 3 to 4 hours on a single charge. The battery performance looks average with high usage – most of it will depend on the brightness levels. As per the company the talk time is 13 hours on 3G networks.

Nokia Lumia 630 review – verdict
The Nokia Lumia 525 I believe is still a better option price wise for a little extra you can go for the Lumia 630. The good part on the 630 is the quad core processor and sadly Nokia has removed light and proximity sensors and if that was not all they also removed the front camera (if you are comparing it with Nokia Lumia 625 that has a front camera). In general they have give more power but removed some common features. Still a good buy if the missed out features do not bother you. Nokia Lumia 625 comes with a different chipset – Snapdragon S4 Processor dual core and priced at approx Rs. 15,200.

Nokia Lumia 630 is available in different colors and currently pried at Rs. 11,000.
